Pretty sure Ruddy wouldn't want to go to Arsenal and be mostly on the subs bench and that this rumour is just 'lazy journalism' as we wait for the end of the World Cup and the real flurry of transfer activity.

Quote from NA yesterday - "Adams also made it clear there have been no acceptable transfer bids for any of his current squad with Nathan Redmond and Gary Hooper both touted with possible exits during recent days".

not sure i believe the ruddy to arsenal rumours and certainly the reasons that article give, we know, are nonsense anyway. he's not exactly the sort of keeper wenger normally goes for in terms of style and technique and i can't see him being willing to part with a sum close to £10m for a reserve keeper (which is what ruddy would be)

To be honest, Arsenal are being linked with every GK under the sun. These are just rehashed rumours from earlier in the summer as they've ran out on who to link to arsenal.

On a side note, the 2 clubs heavily linked with Olsson now have both signed new left backs. I wonder if were asking for top dollar for him aswell!?

I can't see Leroy going to QPR, but the real threat is Southampton, where working under Koeman in an established top-half PL club could well be seen to further his Dutch career. I fear we have another 6 weeks to sweat through all these rumours.

3 years left on his contract, World Cup scorer and bronze medalist, young and improving... £15m price tag or he stays, simple as imo.

Same for Redmond and Ruddy (without the World Cup bits).

Hooper must be worth £10m if McCormack went for £11m.

We were led to believe that we do not need to sell anyone so we should hopefully be sticking high valuations on our players!

Agree with all of this and NA and DM have both said we don't NEED to sell any players, if however the player wants to leave ........

From today's EDP website - "The latest speculation comes after Gary Hooper and Nathan Redmond were mooted with moves away but City boss Neil Adams made it clear after the club’s opening 1-0 pre-season friendly win at Dereham they have had no bids that would meet their valuations." Also denied bids for Fer and Ruddy!! <ok>

Exactly, we're not in the Little Norwich mindset where we have to tendency to cash in on our players cheaply. I hope McNally go's back to being that hard business man we had a season or so ago, if we fought hard to keep a 32 year old who didn't even want to be here, then we can certainly fight hard to keep our main asset's here or if the worst happens at least make a good amount of money from them.

much depends though if a player wants out. if they do it can compromise our bargaining position as we don't want a player who is going to cause disruption just for the sake of it. hooper is probably the likely case in that scenario whereby we'd take a slightly reduced fee if he's adamant he wants out but in leroy's case i would say it would take £10m before we even raised an eyebrow. ruddy likewise and redmond you can probably add another £5m to that baring in mind the inflated valuations placed on young english players. he's far from the finished article but are any england players 'the finished article'? nope - you want a young english player you pay through the nose. we'll be no different in our approach. i think we got £3m more for snodgrass than we probably should have so that suggests we will make any outward transfer very difficult for the suitor. nobody will go cheap!

If we can hold on what we've got one or two might jump ship, but we need to hold onto the nucleus of the squad as too many changes will disrupt things we all remember that famous Glenn Roederism 'They need time to Gel together' then six months later 'They all need time to gel'. I don't really want to see too many changes to squad but I'm seriously hoping Adam's is planning to draft in some creative midfielders at the moment and I think we'll be signing in a centre back from somewhere, it's gone a bit quiet on that front though.

Things look a lot better after the positive start both Grabban and Lafferty made yesterday.

Just seen this - and not for the first time, either <ok>

Well, good luck, if they can land Colombia's number one, they won't be needing England's equivalent! :)

as i said before, ruddy would not interest wenger. he likes a completely different style of keeper. i could imagine him interesting someone like saints but seeing as dave watson has gone there and the history between the two i'd say that is off the cards too. ruddy will stay next season but i imagine if we don't go up he'll want to leave next summer and get back to the top flight.

I think that's true of a lot of our players, Supers.

This is not a rumour linked to City, but it's reported that Ahmed Fathy is to train with Arsenal with a view to joining them on a free transfer. If that doesn't work out, might he be a possible signing for City? At 29, with 101 caps for Egypt, he can play RM, DM or RB. He had a brief spell with Sheffield United in 2007 and played 9 games on loan at Hull in their promotion season. Worth a shout if he becomes available on a free?

Another Arsenal possibility might be getting Serge Gnabry on loan. At 19 with the ability to play anywhere across the front line, he might fit for what Adams was looking for in Callum Wilson. With Alexis Sanchez joining Arsenal, Gnabry is going to find it even harder to get game time at Arsenal.

Had we still been in the Prem then I think Gnabry might have well been an option, and I've a suspicion he was the midfielder we allegedly came close to loaning in January. I would imagine Arsenal would rather have him playing at a lower Prem side and based in London though next season, to help his development more. Palace or QPR would be my guess.

Blimey, if QPR land everyone they are linked with they wil have a total squad of 67 - are they allowed that many ?

VI in Holland are saying that Fer is close to joining QPR for €6mil... If that's the case then the board gone from being superb for getting the fee for Snodgrass to absolute morons!
