Seems like Surman wants to stay and fight for his place - I think both him and Wes (if he stays) could be very good in the championship!! - http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwic...se_of_life_at_norwich_city_1_3687805#cxrecs_s
With Benno and Surman coming back it's like having 4 new players rather than 2. They also know the other players and won't need time to 'gel', so I'm otimistic so far.
Surman is a good player, I think quite under rated. He isn't lightening quick, but he is intelligent and give us something different out wide.
Completely agree. Plus, both can play in that CAM role. Surman is a really good player and often plays intelligent forward passes. Feeling quite happy with the squad at the moment. One or two in and one or two out I would think realistically before the season starts.
My first Impressions, from posts on message boards obviously, is that we are moving in the right direction. I just hope that departures 're matched by adequate replacements.
Can't be get some of our replacements from our youth team? If not, then..... what the hell is the point of it?
Possibly, but it all sounds a bit speculative: http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/watford-join-leeds-united-in-race-for-luciano-becchio/?# Difficult window this. We can't really sell Becchio until we know who else is staying, just as Watford won't buy until they know what's happening to Deeney.
Either way Becchio isn't gonna be happy. No point keeping him. We don't need him and clearly isn't wanted, why hinder his career even more?
I would argue that we could. Loza and Morris could make the step up. After a year and a half on the bench here is Becchio really a player that will want to play for the shirt
it'll be a very slow race! personally i'd just get rid, whether we have a replacement or not. he's an absolute waste of money him being here. he's never going to be good enough.
Didn't he score 20+ goals foe feeds for a couple of seasons at this level? Anyway I agree get rid get off wage books we have enough strikers
I worry we don't have enough feeds players Becchio goes we will have to get at least one new one in so I can continue to wind up my Yorkshire pals!
Squad is looking pretty decent really. Providing we only lose Bassong and Becchio (which I concede is unlikely) id say we only need 2 more players... a CB and an ACM. Depending on whether Adams wants to play with wingers or not, we might also need a left sided player as im not convinced Pilks is going to be fit for a whole season (or even a quarter of one tbh).
They've a young(ish) RB/RM called Sam Byram who I believe Leeds rate fairly highly. They'd probably want far more money than we'd be prepared to spend on a position where we've already got reasonable cover. Other than that, Tom Lees is a young(ish) CB who played nearly every game for them last season, but I can't see him being better than Bennett.
Ruddy, Bunn, Rudd. Martin, Whittaker, Turner, Bennett, New CB/Bassong, Garrido and Olsson. Johnson, Tettey, Fer, Howson, Surman. Redmond, Bennett, Pilkington, Murphy, New Winger? Hoolahan, New ACM RvW, Hooper, Grabban, Lafferty Id be happy with this decent 25/26 man squa. Plus there are a couple more youngsters like Gafaiti and Jacob Murphy coming through.
