This is what I don't get, presumably there's an issue somewhere? But he's a proven goalscorer at this level and he did well at Leeds? Has lack of game time just blown his head and now doesn't make the effort or what? Really don't understand this as he was obviously decent enough to hit twenty odd at this level. Really curious
At 30, Becchio is now in the twilight of his career, as Cureton was when he came back to us. This is also why he was so desperate to move to a PL club a year and a half ago. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't seem to fit into Adams' plans.
from what i know, the word 'fit' has been the overriding issue with mr becchio ever since he arrived. he isn't! and he doesn't seem that interested in getting fit either. it quickly became clear that the player norwich signed from leeds wasn't quite as good as the one they thought they'd signed! for the sake of the player and the club he needs to move on. we're wasting our money on a player who is never going to threaten a place in the starting eleven and he's wasting his supposed 'peak' years in the game. a change of scenery and a kick up the proverbial and he might just save his career but it is too late at norwich city now.
Transfer Central TNC ‏@TransferNewsCen OFFICIAL: Torino have signed forward Fabio Quagliarella from Juventus on a 3-year deal for a €3.5m fee.
Pete O'Rourke ‏@SkySportsPeteO 27s Liverpool have agreed a fee of £8.5million with QPR for striker Loic Remy. The same as we paid for RickyvW
Except his wages will probably 4 x Wolfswinkels. But then again, I expect he'll score more than 4 x the goals
Evidently Ricky hasn't traveled to Italy because of an injury, really ? The old 'injured in training' ploy to dupe the fans while we complete a deal to move him on. Why the **** can't football clubs and NCFC in particular be honest with the fans ? Why all this bloody 'cloak and dagger' stuff? It may turn out to be true but what sort of injury is it then?
It's a knee injury, a scan showed loose cartilage after a knock in training. They've been pretty clear about it. Also said they were taking 25 players to Italy and only went with 24. Seems perfectly legit to me.
And RvW has played in a pre-season match - Bassong and Becchio playing with the youth squad is a far more reliable indication
That's very true. Personally, I think he'll stay. He still has a lot to prove, and I hope he's the kind of guy who wants to try and show what he's made of. With a more attacking formation, he might well do so.
I so desperately don't want RVW to leave. I have actually seen him play in Portugal and was unplayable. And I know you can say the league is weak etc but he was brilliant when I saw him. He needs confidence and if we get rid of him I think it's going to be a mistake as when he is on it I feel he can make the difference. I have no evidence of this except for blind faith and wishing a good guy well.
I too want him to stay, if we start the season with him, Hooper, Grabban and Lafferty we would have the best line up if strikers in the league.
