Far too many players to boo next season. I have to admit, once a player has left Saints I literally couldn't give two ****s about how their career pans out.Adam and Luke are both irrelevant to me now.

Agreed. Rickie is the exception to this.

Like others have said, Adam was our captain and has been with us for years. We deserved to be treated with a little more respect. The others who have left have gone about it in a way that is easier to stomach, but this one rankles with me more.

Also, he is the player who we will miss the most football wise, so I'm bound to be a bit more annoyed with his departure anyway as that just adds to it. Childish I know, but that's the way it is sometimes!

We had a similar situation with Modric. Fans called him a traitor. He attempted to leave but we forced him to stay one more season (and he played some of his best football) then got his move. Most fans still slate him but I wasn't one of them as Modric (like Lallana) played with determination and passion when picked. Modric also signed a contract, declared he was happy and a year later attempted to move but he wanted to better himself.

Lallana has decided to better himself and there was no easy way out. Fans are just sensitive but you're right to remember him for the quality he showed, as he gave his all when picked and believes he has outgrown Southampton.

The only Reason Lambert is viewed different is because he is seen as loyal. He had no choice to be loyal. First chance he gets(and last chance) and he takes it but Lallana can't sit around until he's 32 just to prove his loyalty and leave on good terms.

Don't agree, I don't like the way he has gone about gaining his desired move, and would have preferred it if he had just come out and said he wanted to go instead of all the bullshit we got from him.

I'm over it now though and am looking forward to seeing his replacement and hoping he'll be better. Might even convert a few more chances than lallana did ;-)

Thanks for your in depth analysis there of a club that you've proved quite comprehensively you don't know an awful lot about.

    It's *completely* different to Modric.

You, as I do, hold Stevie Williams in high esteem FLT, but he moved to further his career as Adam has.

We all know that Claus is a bit of a knob off of the pitch, but that doesn't mean I don't appreciate what he did on the pitch for us.

And as a 13 year old, I was devastated and booed the hell out of him when he returned in the league cup with Arsenal. Then he got sent off.

The difference is that then I didn't understand all the "forcing" a move stuff. I do now and think Lallana has let himself down. Williams came out and said publicly he wanted to go. Lallana appears to have been sneaky about it. If he came out and said he was handing in a request and regretted signing his year contract only last year, then fair enough.

Watched Adz a few times this season gobbling off at players and referees and thought if he wasn't a saints player he would be a partularly unpleasant character. Bit like Noble or Nolan Or Bellamy. That said, he is undoubtedly talented. Just not as talented as he thinks he is. I will miss his Cruyff turns but will not forgive him for saying he was happy here, could not imagine playing football anywhere else and kissing the badge at the end of the season before declaring his love for Liverpool. We will replace him and Lovren with better players. Their success or failure at their next club means nothing to me.

It's not completely different as you do this often, read a comparison and think it's being mentioned literally like for like in every aspect. Both players wanted out after signing long term deals and both players had little support after leaving even after giving good service.

And cheers for the sarcastic remarks but I've been pretty much spot on now for a while regarding Southampton, from when Pochettino first arrived to which players wanted out. You just have an issue as you came on the spurs board declaring Pochettino to be this future gem and that he's the next great manager (which I disagree with) You clearly can't handle views against your club unless they go with your opinion.

Yep it's the same. I remember Modric making his debut after coming through your youth team.

Listen Boss,, your posts are usually pretty good and have some valid points and good banter, but seriously, just hop off our board tonight. We really don't need other teams fans coming in here today and telling us how we should deal with our players leaving.

No, you can disagree with me on Pochettino. That's absolutely fine. I think he'll do a very good job at your club. However you rate Sherwood incredibly highly, so excuse me if I tend to dismiss a lot of what you say. I really don't know what your obsession with Saints is, as you seem to spend an unhealthy amount of time on here. Either way, if you can't see the myriad differences between Modric and Lallana's situation, well really, that tells us everything we need to know......

You seem to know as much about me as you do about Southampton in all honesty......

I'm not looking to wind up and yes I'm aware of the different aspects but I never mentioned Modric to compare exactly as I know it's slightly different because of Lallana being viewed as one of your own but we viewed Modric as someone we gave a chance to and someone we stuck by when he struggled.

Anyhow I can see no matter what point I make its going to sound like I'm being a wum so I'll leave you alone!
