I know this isn't a popular point of view as feelings are still a little raw right now, but if you stand back a bit and think what Adam has achieved in his time with us, then maybe a few of us might not be so bitter about him leaving. He as been almost as instrumental in our rise through the leagues as Rickie was and stayed with us through the bad times, like SKD, so why the vitriol now?... IMO Walcott , Bale, AOC and Shaw should have much more stick coming their way, as they moved on within a year or two of having the benefit of our excellent academy, as soon as a "bigger" club came sniffing around. I'm bitterly disappointed that Adam and Luke are going, but I know which one of them deserves the chance of Champion's League football more.
Agreed. But don't let the door hit your arse on the way out Adz, all the same. I stand by my right to be bitter and twisted. I'll get over it. Besides, my old Le Tissier shirt was getting a little dusty. Time to get it washed before it falls apart.
Because the manner in which he's done it is awful. And if the stories on the bonus payment are true that makes it even worth. Hero to zero very quickly. I'll give him as much thought and thanks as he's is given us on his way out.
It's the fact he made such a big thing about being a huge fan and he was our captain. And remember his statement when he signed a long term contract five minutes ago.
Be ambitious? Why the hell did he not have a big enough pair to hand in an official request then? Spineless, greedy.
It's the fact that he signed that new long term contract and said that he would bite your hand off to stay here for the rest of his career. It's the empty words and the fact that, as Clattenburg said, "he's changed" and not in a positive way. Plus I think the way he's acted around this saga has left something of a bitter taste. Look, I have no problem with ambition and am realistic enough to see that when opportunity rears it's well-paying head, it's going to mean players will leave. Ambition fine. But there's ways of behaving respectfully whilst pursuing that, which I think Adam has fallen short of, particularly as our captain. (In fairness, Shaw and Lambert behaved fine regarding their moves, so I'm less irritated at them).
What really matters is his achievements on the pitch and I'm grateful for the service he has given to the team...I don't care about all the other BS
Also, when the ship hits choppy waters, there's nothing like seeing the captain falling over himself to disembark.
That's fair enough SA. I've never really been one for booing returning managers or players to be honest - just all seems a bit silly, and usually bites you on the arse. There's something about Adam though that's grating more than usual for me. (the snidey weasley little ****er)
I'm not as outright angry at him as others, I don't see him as a traitor or a judas, but I won't be sending him many well wishes either.
