If a player is banned by the FA it doesn't prevent him from playing in European competitions or internationals so what's the difference ?

I would say this, he has bitten two people within the confines of the league he was playing in at the time, I think fifa have therefore said that you've done it in Holland, England and here in Brazil at a World Cup so you cant be trusted to play anywhere now. So your gonna have to go and sit down for 4 months and think it over with a bit of help thrown in as well...

Banning Suarez from the PL for an international misdemeanour is as rational as banning him from internationals for something he did in the PL. Makes no sense.

Why? Usually, if a player picks up a suspension he is suspended from the competition in which he was participating in. They don't get banned from everything. The only time its a worldwide footballing ban is when its drug abuse. Are we seriously saying biting someone is as bad as drug abuse...?

1. It's his 3rd offence. A repeat offender. The punishment should be stricter than the previous times. Just banning a player from international games would not do that.

2. He bit Chiellini on the biggest stage in football - the World Cup where hundreds of millions of people are watching it. A clear message had to be sent out that this behaviour will not be tolerated.

By the end of this ban, combined with the last one, they would have paid him the equivalent of around £4m whilst he was banned. That is unacceptable!

The difference is FIFA have the power to ban players from all football and the FA don't.

That doesn't make it right though.Suarez's offence was whilst playing for Uraguay so why should Liverpool suffer ?

Why should suarez not suffer and be allowed to play so soon?

Because the standard is drug cheats get a total ban because they take drugs in international and club football, Suarez didn't commit any domestic football offence at the WC
