you're not wrong but I am 100% confident every single one of you would not be so eager if he was your player and scored 31 goals for you.

sorry for force majur. its very easy say sell sell sell from the outside.

It's a funny one, his ban. I think he got away lightly, but Liverpool have wrongly received the brunt of it. Tricky situation.

He needs a ban that hurts him, and tbh I can't see how that can be implemented without hurting LFC to some extent.
However, it would have been fairer if the major burden of the ban had fallen on Uruguay and not on Liverpool. The club has done a lot of work to try to make a really difficult individual act like a civilised human being, and yet the minute he's out of their sight he reverts to type.
However, I'm not going to make a big issue out of it- I think we should just bite the bullet and get on with it.

i am not defending him, just pissed off we have been punished for something he done on int duty, he is less appealing now than he was to sell, barca was interested, hope they still are.

i said int ban should have happened as he cares a great deal about playing for his country, well uruguay have hardly been punished and neither has luis, but we have, when he was not even playing for us.

int 2 yr ban (maybe) would have seriously ****ing hurt him, and we could have got rid abroad, he cares a lot more for playing for country than he does any club.

  6. Banning him from international football for two years would have hurt him much more than the sanction he's been given. He is a very passionate player that loves his country.

Don't disagree there but I bet he loves playing club football as much too, considering it's his living.

Hansen on about how Liverpool's biggest worry is that he might do it again, Sorry Alan but that was the worry last time. This time the worry is it'll cost us financially and in the league.

I must be thick, why is the colour of the top he was wearing on that day in any way conducive to the discussion here? It's a sanction against the player, and rightly so. Yet you guys keep mentioning it like it's a valid point. For the life of me, I can't see it. Saying he's more passionate about Uruguay than Liverpool doesn't mean anything, just puts your own club down.

Yes cause everyone is blaming the FA <doh>

And you call us thick. In what way is this Liverpool's fault, why are we to pay a player suspended for what HE did in a international match?

The worst part of this punishment is that we cannot sell him until his ban is up. I don't know if that is technically correct but nobodys going to buy him until then anyway.

    Damn right too.
He invest all that money into a player, and he broke the terms of his contract by taking illegal narcotics, after we paid millions of pounds to secure his service.
Then he puts himself in a position where we cant utilise him for the reason we bought him ( to play him in football games ) yet we are still contractually obligated to pay him every week, for doing f**k all?
Fair enough if he is banned due a red card he received playing for the club, but to be banned for months for non football related matters that are outside of our control?

f**k yeah he deserved to be sued.

Same in this situation, Liverpool now have to not only lose their best player for 20 odd games, they have to pay him 200k a week too?
    Its not on!

What other job would allow you to bite a peer and get 4 months paid holiday as punishment? its insane!

  20. I don't think he does. Sure, its his living but does he really need money when he's already a multi-millionaire? He loves playing football and he loves his country, a combination of the two can't compare to anything else.
