8mil is too much but if Brucey thinks he's worth it and Allams willing to splash the cash to get the tash then so be it
I hope this isn't Bruce and Sunderland again. He seems to do well on a relative shoe-string. However give him some money and he seems to start buying ****e.
We will find out in the season proper won't we. Personally I think they are good signings. Both 24years and really they won't hit their peak until they're around 27, so we have the potential to sell them on for more at a later date. But then again.....
Happy with Livermore, Snodgrass and Dawson if we get him. All British players with a good work ethic. Lets watch QPR buy all the Chilean and Mexican players from the world up on £100K a week, see how they like it in Swansea away on a Tuesday in February when its minus 10. Buy British!!!!
I'd rather have Snodgrass playing for us, than against us, but if the reported fee is true, we've overpaid again. Still, as well as chipping in with a few goals, he should be able to improve our set pieces, which are currently appalling.
Do you know when you say overpaid is that just us as a club who've never really spent anything or are you comparing our buys to todays transfer market where unproven youngsters are being linked to 34m moves?
Same as the snoddy info, yeah ive always liked dawson was a bit hit and miss last season though, like i say its well known were linked just hearing hes signed hope its true myself
If we get 4 good seasons out of Livermore and Snodgrass, have we really overpaid? What price do we put on retaining PL status - if that's what these two help us to achieve? Livermore's best years are hopefully ahead of him and Snodgrass should be in his prime years with us - although I'm hoping the fee for the latter is not all payable up front and at least 25% of the figure being banded about is add ons.
I think a player from who's played well for a lower Premier League team, who's in the last year of his deal(and won't sign another one), is worth £5m tops. Things are just getting out of hand, last season players like Livermore and Snodgrass would be £4m, it's the new TV deal that's made clubs feel too flush again.
The Fail now saying fee has been agreed for Snodgrass and that it is £7m possibly rising to £8m. Norwich wanted £10M!! We are indeed in the age of inflated transfer fees!
I agree pal its getting out of hand, thing is you dont pay you dont get so catch 22 really, im happy with snodgrass will bring assists good service to long, jelavic and chip in with a gew goals strengthens the squad further
I quite agree about the TV money. Clubs know each other has more money from TV income that they are just charging more, similar to what you would do if Man City or Chelsea came in for one of our players.
I think that in a period where we could have got Campbell, Sidwell and Ayew for less than £2.5m all in(I'm not suggesting we should have gone for Campbell), a potential £16m for Livermore and Snodgrass simply looks too much.
