Very disappointed in him, not only because he's gone to the mags of all teams, but because he's just gonna be a squad player.

He'll get the reception he deserves when he comes back to the SoL, even though he'll probably be on the bench for it, like he will be most games

Thought the lad was a decent squad player. I know he is young but I've been waiting for him to improve from decent to good for a few seasons now (and he can't say he wasn't given the chance) but IMO he failed to deliver and make that next step. It seems obvious he was wanting to run down his contract for a bigger weekly pay check move but in all honesty we can get better elsewhere for cheaper. (He'll probably turn out to be a world beater now! But I doubt it).

Funny how these things work out.

I remember Steven Taylor saying there wasn't one Sunderland player who'd get in their team.

Now they've brought in Jack to replace Cabaye at the same time Newcastle are trying to offload Taylor in px <laugh>

I'll be going SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH every time he touches the ball. I won't let him forget the way he treated his beloved childhood club in the heat of the moment when he smashed them for the 3rd :D

Hope he enjoys being on the receiving end of a 3-0 thumping next season. If he's their Cabaye replacement, the Mags could well be in the ****. Solid, hard-working player, never likely to be anything more than that.

I trust Gus to find better, if we sign someone like Benega I'll piss myself laughing at the fact that I was ever worried about losing Colback.

I agree with this but think his value is a bit high at 7m probably around 5m at the moment. He is taking a big risk moving up the road, but I have a horrible fear that he will be a great signing for them, somebody at the top has made a huge mistake in their assessment of Jacks worth to the club, lets hope we learn from this fiasco, as far to many players of late have walked away at our expense.

It's not, it's just cooled while Marseille are sniffing. Benega will be sold this window and Marseille are yet to bid. Still twist and turns on that one.

I'm following the Spanish media like a hawk. <ok>:)

He's a step up from Gosling, but no Cabaye replacement. No one in the black and white camp excited by his signing. He'll be a squad player, no more.

I think he'll be a crap signing myself. Jack is a small cog in a football philosophy, Pardew wouldn't know what football is if it slapped him in the face. I remember how poor Colback was in midfield for a useless MoN, I expect that same Colback turning up for Newcastle as pardew's hit and hope just won't suit Jack imo.

He is a decent player and on his day is very good. He works really hard for his team, is combative and gives his all. He looks after the ball well but he doesn't create much and needs to add that to his game. He does make good runs going forward and pops up in good positions. He is small and not the strongest. Bony took the piss out of him on the last day of the season. He lacks an aerial presence.

That he has opted for Newcastle. Good luck to him. I don't see him being there long. I think the lad has probably made a mistake for his football career. His time was probably up at Sunderland. He always gave his all in Sunderland colours so no complaints from me.
