Now Jack Stephens has been shipped off to Swindon. Wonder who the axe will fall on next!

You could definitely see a shift in the academy selections over the last month or so with u18 players being promoted to u21 and younger players getting more u18 matches. It stands to reason that some of the older u21 players would be moved out and these two haven't quite cracked the 1st team, but seem good enough to carve out football league careers.

Interesting comments from Reed about them coming back and challenging next season. I thought Isgrove had only signed a one year extension and i can't see him getting another year. As mentioned Stephens has signed a long contract and central defence is traditionally a role which takes longer to mature into but if neither he or Turnball become 4th choice centre half next season then I think they may struggle to have long term future here.

Neither Isgrove or Stephens are going to get 1st team experience this season with us.. I guess the club will monitor their progress or otherwise over the next 7 weeks and decisions will be made. Let's hope they both grab the chance to shine..

I think that players that develop quickly can benefit by staying at Saints and training with the 1st team but I guess these guys have been around for a number of years and may have stagnated a bit so a change in the short term may do them good. We'll see how they perform during pre season and take it from there.

Does seem strange though that a few days after Reed is talking about how we don't loan players out, 2 go out on loan.

Italian press saying Shaw to Chelsea has been agreed for 21million. Hopefully it's more lies. I think we should be getting more for him than that to be honest.

Wenger is now apparently after Chambers for £10m.

Not high enough. Wouldn't worry too much with Nicola, but we are in uncharted territory now. The stated aim is to keep our youngsters, but perhaps there may be some sales to balance books and to enable us to keep selected players. Personally, I don't think such a move is in Chambers' interest. We may be in for some sweaty moments over the summer.

You worry a lot. I can't see any one leaving we don't want to leave.

You are right that we will try to keep the players we want, but I can see that sometimes selling a player may be in Saints' best long term interests. We should avoid knee jerk reactions if someone is sold as we are not privy to a lot of background stuff.

We have had no calls on Chambers yet either. It's just made up crap. Had two calls for Luke but that was last window nothing since.

The summer will tell us KLs true ambitiion. If wee buy big I can see a few of the younger players leaving to make room for the next set off the conveyor belt.

Can see Isgrove and Curtis leaving about it.

Heh, we can buy big and bring through several more youngsters, and still have only an average-sized squad.
