My take, I think Pardew will be lucky to escape a criminal conviction for a viscous account of assault. He could have seriously hurt Meyler and indeed he was lucky to escape unharmed.

Mindless acts of violence like today's outrageous scenes have no place on a football pitch, especially not from a manager representing a club.

Disgraceful, I bet you lot are embarrassed.

Well done on the result though, no doubt we shot ourselves in the foot somewhat but you were the better side and were clinical when pouncing on the mistakes you forced us in to. No complaints on the result, the best team won. Remy is a real handful as well, are you likely to hang on to him after this season?

Sweet jesus. <doh>

So are you suggesting SAF wasn't a sportsman? As I recalled earlier I remember Sir Bobby going head to head with an official when we got turned over 4-2 off Spurs. Gets to the best of them. I still consider Sir Bobby a sportsman.

You need to remember sport affects managers, some as gentile as Sir Bob, in strange ways at times. Pards simply has more of these incidents. He didn't strike anyone <ok>

Pards head-twerked (if you internet hardnuts insist on inventing a new terminology for it!...) a player... I'd count that as striking him with his head. He wasn't offering his head as a means of handshake because he got temporary dementia and forgot which part of his body to use...

Like I said. Getting angry is understandable. If you can't control your emotions to any degree, however, and yourself enough to not push officials or head-twerk players, then how are you going to be respected by the players you manage, the fans, opposition managers, the FA, potential advertisers? I stopped doing that **** when I was five years old. Some of us actually grow up <ok>

Definitely not a head but, however, he did put his head towards the players face. I'd say identical to Remy's sending off.
I believe he'll get a longer ban than 3 matches as he has got previous with the FA.

Didn't look like a head but from where I was sitting just an in your face confrontation.

So you think Sir Bobby should have been sacked for going head to head with the official? And SAF for his various altercations? Picking and choosing depending on the individual seems a bit silly to me.

As I say you're not involved in professional sport so what you do and when you stopped getting emotional/angry enough to get physical is irrelevant. Not everyone can be some zen like saint. Takes all sorts.

Football is losing its way indeed. It's not the players/managers however, its the fans and there unending PC clean bullshit.

Robson, Ferguson, Mourinho, Capello and Mancini have all been caught on camera going nuts and have done silly things on and off the pitch. Robson and Fergie should have been sacked, and the people managing today should all be sacked for past offenses. I would like Steve Kean to manage every game please!

'Yeah he hit my wife, but we played well and created a chance or two.' - Every manager 2016.

We demand passion, but demand not to much passion.

So you think Sir Bobby mouthing off at an official one time is comparable to Pard's rapsheet do you??? That's utter bullknackers.

You mean professional sportsman who get paid handsomely whether they win or lose? I think you're a f***ing joke of a human being if you're suggesting that what I felt playing in my school team, five-a-side kickarounds etc for nothing more than pride in my mates, myself, my ****ty school and the love of the game wasn't passion... And as for pressure, have you ever watched an U14 match? Talk about pressure, imagine if the players could actually hear the screamed insults properly, never-mind if it was coming from their own parents!?!?!!

I think you're the one who doesn't understand what a sport is. It is not money <ok>

Mouthing off? He went head to head and had to be restrained <laugh> What about SAF too? Sit one side or the other, not which side suits the situation. I could name loads of managers. Mourinho actually attacked Vilanova from behind when at Real. Sometimes managers and coaches do very silly things. Pardew has a chequered record. It doesn't mean you sack him. Its not like he did a Fiorentina boss job.

You're blowing it out of proportion and clutching at straws.

I accept sport for what it is and what it has become. I may not like facets of it but I'm not gonna be hypocritical to suit certain situations. I couldn't really give a rats ass what you think of me as a human being, its completely irrelevant to whether Pardew is the devil. <laugh>

hey boys... the last thing we need now is a '**** off thread'... just saying... (huge whistley face)...

I never said he was the devil. He's a petulant child and would deserve a sacking, if football wasn't, rather absurdly, a law unto itself (actually proven re-John Terry).

And yes, SAF should have been facing much greater sanctions than he did... How hard is it to grasp?! I don't think it has any place in sport, and should not be treated with a childish or passive attitude... A manager striking, aggressively/attacking/ pushing/ threatening a ref/player/another manager/a fan should be given severe sanctions, especially for repeat offences, which makes your whole "heat of the moment" thing bullknackers.

Sir Bob did not head-twerk him, did he? No.

If the straw I'm clutching at is asking for the manager of Newcastle United to have some respectability, professionalism, and not be facing FA sanctions every few matches, then what the hell analogy may we use for you defending him?
