The results were more or less 60% against the name change, 40% for. I don't know the exact figure but it's very close to 60-40. Which is very disappointing.
I'm not for one second suggesting any impropriety, just very interested, who counts the votes and do they have to be verified?
Well. That's interesting. Very interesting. When can we expect something to dismiss it as an anomaly do you think?
They were counted by the OSC. I've no idea if some further verification is taking place. Maybe that's the reason for the delay. You tell me. Thought you were a majority? Yet you're sarcastically proclaiming victory when 40% vote in agreement with you? And that's the highest result of all the polls. The average is more like 85% against remember. Also, you've been moaning that the rest of us are obsessed with polls, yet when one of them comes along that suits you* it's 'very interesting'. Excellent consistent standards by you there. *Well, a bit anyway.
Why is it an anomaly? If the figures are correct then 60% of the OSC members are against changing the name. Perhaps all of the 200 hooligans are members of the OSC then?
Even if 90% voted for the name change, it still wouldn't mean much since the people who actually go to games are completely united in their vocal opposition to the name change. No name changers on the terraces.
AA announces he's going to walk away on the day this vote is announced and 60% still vote against the name change. I agree, that is interesting.
Erm. You've been claiming a massive majority. How many were "not arsed to vote and thus didn't feel the need to vote against"? I thought the OSC membership were disgusted with the stance taken regarding the join CTWD statement? My stance on polls is the same, I meant its interesting to me how this one will be spun to present another load of bollocks from CTWD. I guess it will be the standard attack on the people who didn't vote against it. It's not quite as clear cut as we've been led to believe is it?
I'm not claiming anything of the sort, I'm pointing out that with all the polls we get thrown at us as evidence for the name change not to go ahead, this one which had previously been billed as massively against, when done more properly, isn't. I bet you'd never have predicted this style of split would you? That's why its interesting, and funny. Or are you going to claim you're not surprised? Flaskers? Self interest? What's the angle you're going to take on this? Don't try twisting my words to suit your own agenda, it won't wash. I still maintain these polls are bollocks, and won't affect anything, they're just a pacifier for people who are directionless and clearly out of their depth.
Assem Allam is the one who said it is a minority of 200. It very clearly isn't. Even the majority of the supporters closest to the club are against it.
Considering the timing of the poll, just after Allam threatened to "walk away within 24hrs" if the FA refused the name change, then I would say that is a damaging poll result for Allam. I feared something closer to 50/50 or even a majority in favour, so fair play to those OSC members for not buckling from the threat.
Apparently the amount of people who responded was quite high. But I don't know why you brought that up. It's you and Omega who keep telling us that everyone who didn't vote in a particular poll just happen to be part of your extremely silent majority. I've no idea of the views of the OSC membership and I don't think anyone really could claim to, nor have they. OLM said some people had returned their memberships, but I doubt he meant hundreds of them. You're the master of spin and you know it. CTWD are proper fans who represent everything good about football and oppose the crap that comes with modern football, like stupid **** owners dictating to fans. The fact that long term fans like yourself would oppose that is extremely disappointing, particularly as you do it just to be different/irritating.
Is the recent comments by Prescott and Courtney a sign of Allam building up to a referendum, or has he missed that boat anyway? If he has, and his submission's in and finished, what's the point in these recent interviews?
Deary me. I do it because I'm progressive and not fearful of change. I also don't categorise people into being "Proper" or "plastic" fans. I much prefer modern football to olden days football.
I'd say the OSC are the least militant and least representative group of City fans. If even they can't gain a majority at that point in time, it may as well be called a landslide.
Didn't you just dismiss it in a previous post until OLM pointed out it was only 58% against? Even if it's true, that isn't a reason to change. I'm not fearful of heights or the dark but I still spend most of my time at ground level in well-lit rooms. Not being scared of something isn't a reason to do it, there should be a reason; a clear benefit or gain. There isn't for this. You know there isn't. You haven't once even tried to explain a reason there's a benefit. Your stance is just that you like Allam and don't like any kind of negativity from other fans. Your view changes depending on what Allam does. You never wanted a name change until he proposed it, and you posted in support of Barmby before Allam sacked him then changed your mind with no matches in between because people turned on Allam and you needed to justify your stance in support of him. All that in bold is, is a way of having a stupid dig those of us who don't want to change the name.
You didn't want Hull Tigers previously and when I kept telling you it was what AA planned, you accused me of making it up. You don't have an opinion until AA gives you one. Same as Prescott.
