You can't just assume that because you always referred to the club as the Tigers that that's what everyone else did. I've been going nearly 50 years and always refer to us as City, as have my friends. Anyway, we are already called the Tigers, so if he wants to use that for marketing why doesn't he use it? Unless or until there is ANY evidence of an increase in revenue from a name change he will never get the support that his actions otherwise deserve. Answer honestly, do you believe that a name change will result in more or less revenue to the club?

He may sell the club, that does not mean an immediate slide down the leagues. I'd guess you see no pride in a name & maybe that's a reason you turned your back on your country & adopted another.
In the 40's and 50's which was the period I was referring to since that was when I was going to most of the home games before I emigrated everyone I knew referred to the club as the Tigers. There's no question in my mind that the name change could increase revenues in the Far East, Middle East, and Africa if marketed properly. I've done a fair amount of business and traveling in Asia over the past 40 years and the "Tiger" is a potent symbol in much of that region. The name recognition compared to "Hull City" could bring in a significant amount of new support and interest in Japan, China, and Thailand in particular. I think that's what Mr.Allam has in mind rather than any dramatic increase in revenues.
Like the Tamil Tigers? How about Hull City, The Tigers? Another load of drivel, it's got **** all to do with marketing the club & all to do with a petulant spat with the local council. FFS he can't even market the club adequately in Hull, he'd be ****ed trying abroad.

Will a name change bring investment in? I have to ask why Rugby and Cricket have introduced americanised names. I do not want the name to change, but it is hard to accept that there could not ever be any investment because of it.

One word stands out - "could". While Mr Allam is chasing a philosophy that " could" bring in extra revenue he is in the meantime losing a ready made income stream in his own backyard. Why oh why would any sound businessman want to treat the most loyal of his customers with the contempt and disdain that he does, an attitude that will only drive customers away. I am one of those CTID types that you refer to and have followed Hull City through leaner times than you have ever physically experienced. I was there at the bottom of division 4 and would be again. Hull Tigers in the Premier League? Never.

One of my mates keeps asking me what all the fuss is over the name change, he thinks its a great idea. A family member says he doesn't mind as long as the club is safe. I would accept Hull City and at a push Hull City Tigers. It's bollocks to say that the above are wrong, they are just different opinions.
It's my opinion that Jimmy Saville would make a good babysitter. Obviously, some opinions are more credible than others.
It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic. Everyone argues the non-existent benefits of the name change; a bandwagoner sports marketing opportunist writes a poorly thought through and very shallow self-promoting piece of tosh. If, just if, there should be an increase of shirt sales in India and China (for instance), do people seriously believe the majority of those shirts will be genuine Hull Tigers merchandise? I tried to get through on The Alan Brazil Show on Wednesday morning, as I was sick of him asking for Hull City supporters to come forward and his constant comments that he could not understand what was behind the name-change. I got through to a gatekeeper, to whom I explained that I would offer another view of the reason to the name-change - Allams attempt to buy the KC Stadium, the refusal by HCC and the subsequent hissy-fit by Allam. He told me he had received many similar calls but they were too problematic to air. Instead we had to suffer the moron that is Windass and one or two others who really should have said, either truth or nothing, and hung up. The campaign against the honesty and integrity of Assem Allam must step up a couple of gears, he is turning heads through greed and ignorance; there is a canopy of deceit being built that the FA will be able to hide behind.
The next generation will quickly get used to the new name and the old customers will change or stop going.I remember when traditionalists would never get a mobile phone now most use them and appreciate the advantages they can bring. Times change and people adapt.The world will not stop spinning
