We understand Hull City vice-chairman Ehab Allam met with FA officials today regarding the club's proposed name change. #hcafc

Smart move not letting AA go.

Pity.

Depends on whether or not the FA wanted Assem Allam to present the club's case after his public comments.

At least you're not grasping at straws. Why would the FA care who they speak to from the Owners side of things? Obviously also means Ehab is backing his dad too. Hey that doubles the number of supporters of this in your eyes doesn't it?

I'm sure this will have been asked before and I've missed it but do you genuinely believe more City fans are in favour of the name change than against it?

I don't grasp at straws as you well know. The number of supporters for Hull Tigers is more than two but still a minority of those that have expressed an opinion.

The FA may have wanted to hear the case for the change from Assem Allam rather than Ehab because he has been the most vocal in wanting the change. A bit like expecting to hear David Cameron and getting Nick Clegg instead. Both represent the government but..........

I expect Ehab to have put the case very well.

In my experience, & this includes mates who've been pass holders for years, most fans can't be bothered to take the time to even read the details.

I've distributed leaflets & badges etc and the level of apathy if frightening.

The biggest challenge is to get a large proportion of fans to take enough interest to make an informed view either way!

I'm not convinced about the postcards on top of everything else being sent to the FA. There's already the petitions and people being encouraged to email them. With these as well they're going to be aware of the duplication of people being involved. It could have the effect of making the support seem smaller because of how many different ways people are being encouraged to get in touch with the FA by the same group.

You're expecting people to fork out for a stamp AND make an effort to put them in a postbox? 10k sounds quite optimistic.

Not that most people would think of it anyway, but if people didn't put a stamp on wouldn't the FA get loads of cards from Royal Mail saying they've got post but they need to pay the postage that's lacking in order to receive it?

I expect Ehab to have put the case very well.

Me too. The case created by his dad and honed amongst all of the owners team. He's using the best means at his disposal to present it. It's almost like he knows what he's doing. Must worry you that.

Ehab isn't a complete mong, unlike his senile old pop.

Having said that, an idiotic idea is an idiotic idea, regardless of how eloquently it is expressed.

I don't think ANYONE thinks more then a tiny tiny minority WANT a name change

Those dead set against the name change are also a minority.

Like it or not the big majority are not that bothered for many different reasons.

I won't back CTWD because to me it comes over as an ANTI Allam group,
If that's not the case then the CTWD need to show that's not the case.

I won't be sending in any postcards..

No, as I've said, it was always up to the FA. All we can do is make the best case we can.

There's not many who are anti Allam. If the name changes I won't go any more after 33 years a pass holder but I'm still not anti Allam. I would like to see him move on gracefully with his head held high, selling to someone who knows how to run a football club. Sadly I think it will all end very badly and he will be remembered for either destroying or trying to destroy over a century of history. Without CTWD the name of our club would have been discarded like a dirty rag, and without so much as a whimper, and I'm very grateful to those who are fighting on my behalf.

Thats because it is an anti Allam group Filey, silently stealthily and all along they have wanted him out. Sneers whispers innuendo while pretending they want him to stay. I much prefer Fez and PMT and some on CI who are honest enough to say it out loud.

Sorry but for the people I know who are CTWD members that is simply not true. Read my last post - I have every reason to want him out as its quite possibly him or me. If he wins I'm out, and I'm still not anti Allam. Everyone I know has much gratitude for most things he has done concerning City.

Although most people are against the name change I think this postcard blitz could backfire like the petition. If the FA don't receive 10,000 cards the tiny minority in favour of the namechange will use that to say not many care.

Some might even be kept as 'souvenirs'.

The petition has nearly 13,000 signatures. http://www.change.org/en-GB/petitio...erse-the-unwanted-rebranding-of-hull-city-afc

He definitely isn't. I know you'll prefer to choose not to believe that but it doesn't stop it being a fact.

On a separate note, The FA have asked for consultation as we know. They've asked CTWD, the OSC and maybe some others I'm not aware of. Specifically they asked the OSC to carry out an open ballot for everyone attending tomorrow's game (i.e. not just members). However the club have now said if they do that, the OSC will lose it's official status. Hooray for democracy.

You mean they're meant to be holding a poll of fans as to whether they want the name to change or not the lunchtime after we launch 2 club record transfer bids and leak it to the press that one has been accepted?

Now where someone on the other thread made a comment about how the bids must be a sign of the FA giving him a wink, it actually makes me think if the timing is related it'd be the other way, with the FA suggesting they think there's a lot of opposition to it and the bids are a desperate last minute attempt to influence a poll.

I don't think they're at all related. Allam said a few weeks ago that there was a lot of money available. I posted it on here at the time and a few people had heard the same figure as me, which presumably also came from Allam. He also said he wouldn't be staying if he didn't feel the majority of fans were behind him regarding a name change. Today's bids fit in fine with that since there have been no big developments on the name change or protests since those comments.

And they were meant to be doing a poll. It's not happening now because the club have insisted it doesn't.

Are you absolutely certain that the OSC are not conducting another poll?
