Why would Argentina sack Sabella this close to the World Cup, though? They've been excellent under him.

Well indeed.

For those speculating about us buying one of their players, isn't it more likely one of our representatives would fly to Madrid for that, rather than them coming here? They must be interested in something of ours, and they must think they have a pretty good chance if they've actually made the journey.

I don't like the fact they're meeting Poch, rather than Nicola though.......classic Saints paranoia shining through I know!

or they have come to convince us to go back to stripes next season ... and blue shorts.

Yeah, hadn't thought to check but you're right, looks very dubious.

Not listed anywhere online as a registered, or unofficial agent.

Certainly not a long-term professional football associate, as claimed.

No personal tweets, no personal photos.

Sticking the photo into Google provides several other online account using the same photo.

False alarm, I'd say.

Just as many fake agents on twitter as there is Sky Sports people.

Not really a rumour, but Hull have apparently bid £6m for Shane Long (as well as Jelavic). For that kind of money I would certainly be tempted to consider him.

I used to think the same way, but I was talking recently to a West Brom fan who says nobody he knows rates him. Of course, you get patches of Saints fans who don't rate Wanyama or who don't rate JWP etc, so it may mean nothing, but it's made me a bit hesitant. That said, I don't think he's better than Osvaldo or Lambert myself, and not young enough to grow into the role.

Not really the same sort of player though. He'd fit in here I think because his work rate is great, and at 26 he's hardly past it.

For £6m I'd say he's worth a punt. Not that I think it's likely we'd actually go for him.

He's an underrated player. Fabulous first touch and movement. I wonder if there is something off the field that puts people off? Can't believe more teams haven't been after him.

He seems to disappear quite frequently, though whether that's his failing or down to service, I don't know.

Not that my opinion means much but i dont rate Long. Disapears often and, not the best sample, whenever i have watched him he looks pretty damn average

Your opinion means as much as anyone else's [which is bugger all of course, sorry] but I would take a wee issue over Shane Long. I think he's a perfectly capable striker who works hard and could do well in a team giving good service, but [and here I agree with you], no thanks as far as Saints are concerned. When we're looking, we're always going to be after better than we have, and Long isn't.

EDIT: Forgot. I do think we should be keeping our eyes on Danny Ings though. I think he's going to get a lot better, and he's pretty damn good already, imo.

Obviously the adaptation process is not easy, it's taking time, he's been through some illness, some injuries as well, so we're just waiting for his bad games [?] to go through so that he can come back and be playing for us.[/I]

Your question mark was in the right place - "banned" games, not "bad"

Vin
