Any word in that part of the world as to why Dejan was left out mate?

 

New manager presumably wanted to stick with the 'old guard' in this important clash.

 

I can't believe Simunic still plays.

 

I know, he's back in Croatia playing for Dinamo Zagreb. A very good defender in his prime and still offers an abundance of experience. But obviously years have caugth on him and will probably retire at the end of the season.

Iceland 0-0 Croatia FT, Iceland played most of the second half with 10 men, Skulason brought down Perisic on his way to goal. Away goals do count so they just need a late one in Zagreb...

 

Finished 0-0, considering they were down to 10 men for most of the second half, that's a good result for Iceland. Morale will be a lot higher among the Icelandic players rather than the Croatian players who no doubt will demoralised that they couldn't score against 10 men to a time ranked so much lower than them. Hopefully Icelandic can get a cheeky 1-0 win away.
