A bit off topic but it makes me chuckle how 95% of premiership fans say they expected us to be dead certs for relegation. It's as if they just look at the name 'Hull' and make judgement from that.

Last season, I think we had the strongest squad in the championship. An injured strike force (Fryatt and Aluko) for most the season was the difference that left us trailing behind Cardiff. We also have a wealthy, ambitious owner and a highly experienced and renowned manager, all added together made us very well equipped for promotion.

All we needed was that manager to pick out the key pieces that needed adding to the squad and its looking as if he's done that. We may have done better than anyone expected so far, and staying up is always a hard task for pretty much any promoted club, but its as if no one actually bothers to look at the circumstances at clubs rather than just look at the name and make a decision.

What am I on about, they're premiership fans, they don't have a fûcking clue about anything outside the big 6. I bet most don't even know there's 24 teams in the championship.

I massively agree with this post, although I think you need to remember that we Saints have come up through the leagues recently, so we know more than most.

Which is why I can put my smug hat on and say I thought you'll be fine for a while now. You're in a similar place to us last season :)

Yes, well done Osvaldorama - I checked back on your own forums "Who will go down?" post. You speak the truth! You picked us to stay up back in August. I'm tipping a 2-0 win for City, which I've posted on your site.

im going 2-0 saints , or 0-0 / 1-1 .......haha . Hull are a good team , doing well and it really could go any way , there are no easy premier league games , (although man city probably enjoyed playing norwich last week ) .......I have to be honest though and feel we are the better team , and on our form this season i dont think that it is arrogant at all predicting a home win . I am more than aware there are many arrogant saints fans (every club has them ) but reading back , i have to agree that looking at the fixtures both pre season and now and if saints really are aiming for those European places that they talk of then I cant disagree that Hull at home is a game that we should be aiming for nothing less than 3 points , thats my opinion im sure many will disagree , but I mean that with no disrespect at all ......

There's no disrespect expecting saints to win, i expect them to win, they should win. Every team (barring maybe palarse and that **** in the red & white stripes) should really be looking to beat anyone outside the big 6 at home.

I think majority of City fans are thinking if we get anything at your place on Saturday, it'll be a fantastic result.

There's not a lot to go on- we're a goodish team, we'll hopefully compete, but we lack things in certain areas (strikers). You never know something might just click, like it did at Newcastle earlier this season. On the other hand, we might have a shocker.

Oh and just to clarify on what I said about you guys being dead certs for relegation, that was before the transfer window was open in the summer. I wasn't just looking at the name "Hull" as all teams (very much us last season!) struggle when they come up. I didn't mean it as a slant against you guys, think you'll definitely finish comfortably mid table.

The poppy shirt for Saturday...

We seem to be playing in blue quite a lot, I thought there was a limit on how many times you can wear your away shirt?

Our home kit doesn't clash with Saint's home shirt, so why have we opted for a kit that has red and white in it, when playing a team who's home kit is red and white stripes?

They're not playing in red and white stripes this season, they're in plain red.

bloody hell

What is all this squit about an 'Away' strip? I thought it would only be used if the away club's normal kit clashed with the opponent's kit?

Why did it change, and when?

It looks like Brady won't be risked on Saturday either.

Good. No reason to risk him with an International break to follow. Get him ready for the Palace game which is more important. Plus why change last weeks team ? They did well and deserve another go.

bloody hell
We're fooked.

I love SBC 2014/2015.

Stop hissy fitting. All teams have to do without star players now and again.

here's a southampton blogger underestimating us.

despite making a big show of lots of numbers to make his view look scientific, he plays down that huddlestone's performance score (whatever that is) is 20 above lallana's, and ignores that not chelsea, spurs, man city or everton or anyone else has scored 3 against us and that southampton haven't yet scored 3 in a game and predicts a 3-0 home win. he's in for a surprise.

Football fan in "optimistic appraisal of his team" shocker!
