to be fair apart from the first 5-6 words, we have the same views when teams like slumberland and palace etc come to our ground, we both have very good home records thus far

To be fair to Craig, you can sort of see what he means, although he did contradict himself when he said it wasn't arrogance. Obviously being the home team and being in 6th place, Saints fans will be expecting a home win, but clearly it won't be an easy game for either team to win.

You are clearly on the radar now and teams will prepare accordingly.

Smart move getting rid of the goon from Scunthorpe.

I'm giving Craig the benefit of the doubt, apart from the clumsy wording, he's not really too far wrong with what he's saying. Whoever gets the points will have earned them.

**** Craig. he's a **** & is only backtracking now that he realises the fact.

" but our starting 11 is more than a match to anyone in this league" My bullshit meter is reading this as a false.

I guess, although we are difficult to play against mainly because of our fitness. I'd say we have the fittest squad in the league.
And I assume you're talking about Adkins there?

We should be expected to win , but both teams will be up for it, I can't see there being many goals but with home advantage and the way we have played at home many saints fans will be expecting a win, but of course football is never that simple and hull look to be a very good side maybe dare I say it a mid table team

I've no idea how fit our squad is.

I remember when we were struggling in Lg 2 under the chairmanship of David Lloyd , he demanded that the players train harder and I think it was Kevin Gage who retorted that if running was the key to success, why weren't Kenya world champions?

well slumberland were suppose to be this uber fit squad after this pre season and that would enable them to pick off teams in the last part of games, that turned out well <whistle>

Haha good point. Obviously we have a mix of willing runners and genuinely good players. However, I do wonder why more clubs don't go for a higher fitness orientated game plan. It's surely one of the few things in football that can be achieved for free?

Total guess but, I don't think all players buy into it, so it can affect morale and cause factions in the squad. It could maybe also run the risk of injuries?

I think it's down to convincing the players you have that it's going to work of you put the effort in, a manager that they respect and has recently been successful doing it in the past would probably help. You only haft to look at the German sides to see how good the pressing game can be with intense fitness levels and obviously you need quality players but fitness is definetly a big factor

Tbf, league standings aside, at the start of the season, Saints were one of the teams I'd expect us to take points off.

Hey everyone, just wanted to pop across and say hello. Think this will be a very tough game, you've done extremely well against some very good teams, and Bruce seems to have you very well organised (much like ourselves) with a mixture of good buys. You've most definitely had the best transfer window out of all of the teams that were promoted that's for sure. No offence intended but I honestly had you down as certain relegation candidates but you've proved me wrong and have been very impressive indeed. Will be a tight game, I see a 0-0 or 1-1, but obviously I'm hoping for 3 points ;) Safe travels and best of luck with the rest of the season....obviously after 5pm on Saturday!

A bit off topic but it makes me chuckle how 95% of premiership fans say they expected us to be dead certs for relegation. It's as if they just look at the name 'Hull' and make judgement from that.

Last season, I think we had the strongest squad in the championship. An injured strike force (Fryatt and Aluko) for most the season was the difference that left us trailing behind Cardiff. We also have a wealthy, ambitious owner and a highly experienced and renowned manager, all added together made us very well equipped for promotion.

All we needed was that manager to pick out the key pieces that needed adding to the squad and its looking as if he's done that. We may have done better than anyone expected so far, and staying up is always a hard task for pretty much any promoted club, but its as if no one actually bothers to look at the circumstances at clubs rather than just look at the name and make a decision.

What am I on about, they're premiership fans, they don't have a fûcking clue about anything outside the big 6. I bet most don't even know there's 24 teams in the championship.

Agreed:fit and skilled better than not fit and skilled, which is better than fit and not skilled which is better than not fit and not skilled!

in answer to french tickler , saints make ten changes from the team on sat , only jay rodriguez keeps his place tonight

So i saw. Rather a surprise but then again maybe Pochettino is worried about us more than some think plus maybe he did not fancy playing Chelsea in the coc qtrs afterall.:wink::

Agreed. Nothing has changed eithr. After the way we played @ Everton and Spurs twice using most of our squad then Saints should not be feared.

Interesting that the last time Hulls Curtis Davies came up against Saints Ricky Lambert was when Luton Town(CD) were playing Stockport County(RL). How times and both have changed. Lol.
