Pointless thread. For arguments sake, let's concede there is no valid or sound reason for a name change? So what? 1 - It will happen anyway 2 - Those who don't object to the name change won't support the anti-campaign for reasons I've described earlier.
The only thing we know will increase our exposure abroad & as such increase our chances of additional income is being successful on the pitch. If it was as easy as people are suggesting we'd of played the giants of world football "The Newcastle Magpies" this weekend. Next week we'd be playing the giants of the Western World "The Western Hammers" followed by "The Aston Martin Villains" The people in the boardroom don't know if will work either, furthermore they also don't know if our current name wouldn't attract any additional income as they haven't tried. If investment is secured we'll not know if it was due solely to a name change unless this is revealed. If changing our name is a condition of investment I'd rather do without. Foreign investment's don't guarantee success, ask "The Queen's Park Rangers", "The Sly Leicester Foxes", "The Royal Artillery Pompey's of the Port's Mouth" or "The Leeds Scum ****s" It's all a crock of ****.
I do realise that, I will donate a few quid to the fund and leave them to it. As for the outcome, TWT as always.
Sorry Mr Rheinhold, some was cut and pasted from another thread (guardian article) and was referring to the second protest.
That'll be the Huddersfield debacle that has continued and resulted in investigations into the attitude and behaviour of Police Officers at football? I'd say it was more of a success than a failure. As for 'self elected leaders' I have absolutely no idea at all who you're referring to. There are several people who are doing their own thing, their are some that have united for za joint effort, but I wouldn't describe them as leaders. You're perfectly at liberty to do your own thing and all credit you if you do. You'll get no criticism from me for following your principles in the same way the others don't. Of course we all want different things. I don't see anyone suggesting otherwise. The ground is slowly forming into distinct areas to accommodate that. With a little bit of give an take, away games can be tweaked to suit most needs to. What we shouldn't have is ANY one group dictating in such a way that it affects the others unduly. That includes those against or apathetic to the name change having respect for the principles of those that object.
That's fine by me, I shall continue to go to the match to watch my team, and continue to ignore this fruitless protest.
1. It's only fruitless because so many ****s like you are sat there saying, "well, he's a stubborn old twat so I won't bother"; 2. What kind of football fans mock their fellow supporters for being passionate about the club? It's the same with you lot and the 'Ulltras'. OK, so their name's a bit crap, but at least they want to inject some noise and passion into our games. Why take the piss?
I've no problem at all with people choosing to ignore it. It's those that make so much noise about how they're not at all bothered that I find sad and ignorant.
Heading towards 200 replies and 2,000 views and STILL no single solid benefit for the name change has been found. Speaks volumes.
If you're offering... Bloody Geordies with their mass neg repping. Must be the highlight of their day, that.
Added some. The geordies that bothered to post to us were fine, it looks lie the younger, shy element play with the rep thing.
Why is it so difficult to understand? The only way that the protest can succeed is for Allam to ultimately leave the club. The majority of fans still support Allam and are not prepared to let a minority of fans force this outcome. Of course, most of the protesters will say that they do not want Allam to leave the club, they just want him to reconsider his position. However this is not going to happen whilst the protest is a minority.
Oh yeah, I looked at their post history and it was all on the rep brothel. Returned rep as well, my good man.

Mr A has brought unprecedented success to City via his decisions.I trust his judgement in business. I like us being on MOTD 200 at Barnsley when we were rubbish indicates most others prefer us where we are now. If the name change is a failure I think it will probably be scrapped
