Tottenham sign another player a 23 year old centerback. Must say they have done their business in the transfer window impeccably. It seems they identified where they are weakest and just went out and got the players they needed. Whether they do well or not, or even if their new players succeed or fail they have conducted themselves superbly. I wish we were as clinical as they have been. You can argue that their targets were more achievable than ours (basically we seem to be only bidding for WC players - Suarez and the like) but there are more than enough positions that need filling and we could have easily bolstered the squad in the manner they have. I am okay with making plays for big names Suarez, Benzema, Di Maria, Ozil, Rooney etc those are always 50/50 but not to have strengthened the squad generally after letting so many players go is nigh on criminal.

That's because they bought players according to their status, and we tried to bite more than we could chew.

Deals for the likes of Rooney, Benzema, Suarez are no "50/50." They are so far 100/0 as none of them have been signed.

The real miss was surely Higuain as he was realistically attainable. Rooney and Suarez were always going to be very difficult, probably same could be said of Jovetic too who you have been linked with in the past.

For me Luis Gustavo was the real miss.

Hopefully we can still land Di Maria.

Thats my point i have no issue trying to get big names, but to not reinforce the squad with players after removing so many was as important as buying a couple of superstars. After the clear out I reckon we needed 6 players (obviously all of them weren't going to be WC) 4 would be squad additions i.e. a cb, a gk, a mf and a wf - So far we have got a mf and a st (who is not ready to play yet) that is what i am annoyed about. If we had made 4-5 additions of good players to flesh out the squad I would have almost been ok missing out on a superstar. But not to reinforce at all 3 days before the window is ****ing criminal.

We could have got (off the top of my head)

GK - Mignolet, Reina, Guita or go big with Cassilas
CB - Williams, Papadopoulos, Rami or a huge name like Hummels
MF - Fellani, either Bender, Kond (sp?), cabaye, Eriksson
    WF - Lamela, Nani, Jovetic,
ST - All the ones I can think of our big names and frankly if we do buy a CF it should only be a big name.

It all started so well with all the deadwood (Arshavin, Squillaci, Santos, Chamakh, Denilson etc) but since then we have been given false hope of superstars just before season ticket renewal then screwed over by the board, IG and AW.

According to Wenger "We will not panic buy".

What other choice do we have?? Does he know when the window closes? ..any signings we make ARE going to be panic buys!

all the prices will be pushed up now whoever we want to buy will be worth an extra few million, which is why you dont start with a ridiculously low offer (guita of valencia release clause of £20million and we offer £4million FFS) or a pis* taking offer(suarez). The prices are high but when you are ambitious you pay the extra £2/3 million to get the deal done

According to Speaking News (I have no idea how reliable) we have agreed a 10m deal for Fabio Quagliarella. Terrible source though.

On SSN they said that Levy was purposefully delaying the Bale deal so we couldn't get AdM before the NLD. Fee has been agreed though.

I really wonder how much of these fan rebellion is caused by the way in which our neighbours have splashed our? Guys don't get me wrong, I feel as cheesed off as the next man with the lack of transfer activity. However, my frustration is even more exacerbated by how our less illustrious neighbours have conducted their business with the impending exit of Gareth Bale. There spending for me has rubbed salt to our wounds!

I just wonder to myself maybe I am being overly negative with our inactivity, and try to convince myself we have the players to challenge for honours and do not need any major signings!

Sad if true, Fabio was a target for Norwich and West Ham (perhaps this is how high we should be aspiring??)

As for Levy you have to say that he is doing all he can to strengthen the Spuds and weaken us. To be fair I wish we had someone equally as astute.

This is susposedly a BT Sport account on Twitter but I don't know if it's genuine or fake
I think it's a fake account because it hasn't got the blue tick by it <ok>
