There's quotes from the same interview: ‘In the past I’ve never been able to compete fairly with Benoit, and Benoit’s been outstanding for the last three or four years. But now we’ve got a manager who treats people fairly and he’s not afraid to drop people if you’re not performing, so I hope that can work well for me this season. ‘I train hard and every game I played I feel I’ve worked hard, so I hope that can stand me in good stead for Palace next week. My concern is that avb doesn't see lb as a priority and Rose will be his lb for the season Only time will tell I suppose!
We signed him last minute last summer window and I can see the same again this year. He already knows the stadium, fans, area, players, coach, owner and hes had a full pre-season with Spurs so I hope he either has a few dodgey openers of a stellar name left-back is bought by Spurs once they sell Bale, we all know his quality.
Tottenham full-back Danny Rose has relished his extended first-team chance during pre-season and is determined to nail down the position once the real thing gets under way this weekend. Rose, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Sunderland last season, has been a regular at left-back for Andre-Villas Boas' side ahead of the new campaign and Rose is grateful to the Spurs boss while insisting he does not want to go out on loan again. "This is the most I've played in pre-season," he said. "It's nice to have a manager who gives you a chance and is not afraid to drop certain players." Benoit Assou Ekotto has not played in pre-season with concerns over his fitness and the Cameroon international's future at White Hart Lane is in doubt, with Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao linked with a move to north London. "Obviously I know Spurs have been in the top four or five clubs for the last five seasons or so, so I know it's hard for anyone to break through, but at the same time it is frustrating and it's great that now the gaffer is not afraid to drop people if you're not performing or training hard enough. "I enjoyed every minute at Sunderland. It's a club that I'd love to go and play for again because they're the only team at this minute which has given me a chance to play week in week out. "I enjoyed every minute of it and now I've experienced it, coming here and sitting on the bench is not something I'd be looking to do. "I love this club, but if I don't play regularly then I'm not going to be happy, just like everyone else wouldn't be happy. "I wouldn't be going on loan again. If I wasn't playing then a loan's not an option for me now. I want to get settled somewhere, playing week in week out."
Been mouthing off about Saggy Chops and may have ruffled a few feathers in amongst his teammates. Is he trying to force a move? If he does come I don't want him adopting that attitude and I doubt PDC will be impressed with what he's said either. Could be the press twisting it like. Spuds aren't impressed with him either. “In the past I’ve never been able to compete fairly with Benoît. Benoît’s been outstanding for the last three or four years, but now we’ve got a manager who treats people fairly, and he’s not afraid to drop people if they’re not performing, so I hope that can work well for me this season. It’s not nice when you train hard every day and people are allowed to sack off training and still be in the starting XI. Sometimes it’s the name on the back of the shirt as well. Obviously Spurs have been in the top four or five for the last five seasons or so, so I know it’s hard for anyone to break through. But at the same time it is frustrating, and it’s great that now the gaffer is not afraid to drop people if they’re not training hard enough.” http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/224252-Rose-On-Redknapp
Hmmmm, thats got the tongues wagging over there, either niave, or his agent has told him to do it to engineer a move
Either Naive or bad advice. Can't see Paolo being impressed with someone who speaks so publicly of team mates. Hope it doesn't scupper any move for him.
Either way his team mates must be thinking who the **** is he talking about? If he's honest enough to say to pdc i said it because i want nothing more than to play for safc i cant see it being a problem mate
why? If he gets a chance at 1st team action presumably he will go for it. If not he wants to come here Don`t like the idea of being used mate, really don`t.
Do you not think its a bit coincidental that on the we became a 1 horse race for cissokho he comes out with this?
I was thinking that. Hope we sign them both. We could do with both. Then Jack has 6 months to prove himself in his favored position as he wants, provided of course he earns his place in the side. All for competition for places me like
