i thought avb had said rose would be first choice? i was mistaken.

He said he wants him for the first team squad and he's part of future plans. but how often is that said in football. Plus Danny wants first team football and wants to be back north for family reasons. If spurs land someone like Fabio Coentrao then I can't see Danny being willing to sit there not playing when he can play week in week out with us in the same league.

Fact is Danny isn't upto the level spurs are looking for. Player power and all that, I think he'll ask for a move if another LB sails into spurs.

Hes got everyone's support mate but we want a left-back! And quite frankly we deserve one

Yes we do deserve a left back, a right back and a hint of success, however I may be mistaken but your original post didn't sound very supportive of Jack Colback!

The 25-year-old’s representatives expect to speak to Spurs officials tomorrow in a bid to move negotiations on.

Coentrao is a long-term favourite of White Hart Lane boss Andre Villas-Boas, who has already seen two bids to bring the player to England, first with Chelsea and then with Spurs, rejected by Real.

However, Coentrao has told his bosses he now sees his future away from the Bernabeu and that has sparked interest from Tottenham, big-spending Monaco and a Turkish outfit.

Coentrao is one of the players Real have reportedly offered as part of any deal for Bale, although sources close to the Spanish giants insist Spurs’ interest in the Portuguese is independent of any bid to take the Welshman to La Liga.

The player would ideally like to move to a club which can offer Champions League football this season, but Spurs’ bargaining power is greatly enhanced by the presence of compatriot Villas-Boas.

The Spurs boss has indicated that he would see Coentrao as a vital addition to his squad, having already snapped up wide boy Nacer Chadli, striker Roberto Soldado and, last week, midfielder Etienne Capoue.

Coentrao has a release clause in his Madrid contract of £21.5million, but he is not part of new Real boss Carlo Ancelotti’s plans and he will be offloaded for around £13m.

Blackpool’s Tom Ince is also on Tottenham’s radar in case Bale goes to Madrid.

Spurs considered a move for the 21-year-old winger earlier in the year and are once again on his trail as they look to increase their attacking options.

Blackpool’s star man – currently on a two-game ban after insulting a match official – is keen to get into the top-flight and take his career to the next level.

come on danny, could be one step closer to your home after this one goes through

And now the England Under-21 international has had a taste of regular top-flight football, he wants more.

So if he feels he undeservedly loses his position in the starting XI at Spurs this season, he could be off, and Sunderland would be his first-choice destination.

"I enjoyed every minute at Sunderland. It's a club that I'd love to go and play for again because they're the only team at this minute which has given me a chance to play week in week out," Rose said following Tottenham's 1-1 draw against Espanyol on Saturday.

"It was a great experience. Martin O'Neill gave me so much freedom, I felt that I could do whatever I wanted wherever I wanted on the pitch, and Paolo Di Canio was the same.

"I enjoyed every minute of it and now I've experienced it, coming here and sitting on the bench is not something I'd be looking to do.

"I love this club, but if I don't play regularly then I'm not going to be happy, just like everyone else wouldn't be happy.

He said the same at the start of the summer. That's why I haven't given up my hopes on this transfer. Not once. Levy plays hard ball and usually does most of his business back end of the window. Time will tell but he's ours for the taking.

wrong word mate. Levy will take full advantage.

It`s common knowledge we`re looking and looking hard. The only thing in our favour is that we may fill the spot & won`t need Rose.

Now might be a very good time.

Fair do's wrong word. What I was trying to get at is we should move for him now. They're open for business and Danny Rose is shouting come and get me.
