I wouldn't have thought that we'd sell Rose to you in this window, to be honest. Assou-Ekotto's on the way out and Villas-Boas has stated that he wants two players for every position. Add to that the fact that we're running out of homegrown players and it seems unlikely. Sorry.
No need to apologize mate. Don't even think we're in for him now anyway. That ship sailed ages ago. Our purse strings have been tightened, you won't see us paying 7m+ for a fullback now that's for sure. If we make an expensive signing it'll be for a CM and even then I don't think we'll spend big on that position.
We could loan you one. Tom Carroll. Very good and he probably won't get much of a look in at WHL this season, as we're signing every player in the world, ever, apparently. Did a real number on City's U21 midfield earlier in the week, by all accounts.
Na mate. We need a proven track record senior starting 11 midfielder. Such responsibility put on a you loan signing would be disastrous, could be genius but most likely a disaster and a unnecessary risk. We've already brought in a young midfielder (Ba) to compete in the squad. I'd rather develop our own player in that position. Thanks for the offer though fella. Doubt our clubs would be impressed with us conducting business behind their backs
I honestly think £6 mil for Rose is a bloody good buy. Why cant Danny R play the central midfield role? He's pacy, likes a shot, can pass a ball. Cabral can be the brute Rose can be the creator
He said he wants to come back, once this deal is complete we will not get a better chance to get him imho, if we want him we should get him now! Fookin hope so
I like Colback and think he is a 'solid' premier league player, although I noticed that there were a few times he lacked the vision to play an early ball up to Giaccherini last Saturday and Fulham managed to organise themselves much easier due to our lack of pace on the left. I was happy for Colback to be the regular left-back but having watched closely on Saturday we did miss Rose and his attacking bias would be much more suited to this team. I will be very happy to see Rose come to SAFC at whatever price the club are prepaired to pay Spurs. However Rose started for Spurs against Palace so it would appear to be unlikely as they will probably prefer to keep him for LB and RB cover.
I think most of the sky money will go to covering the losses we've made over the last few years. That's why the transfer purse is a little light.
neither are play makers , larsson is not a cm and jack does not have the ability to thread forward passes only side ways and if either scored five goals from that situation in the team i would be amazed. this is the be all in the team.
the most boring topic as well as the most hopeful , danny rose . this is football not a bloody xmas list
You know I'd never thought of that but it's a great point - I still think Colback is a little lacking in CM and needs to pick his passes better but he is, as you say, a damn site better than Larsson
