Nah, Jager your taking to a brick wall, its all the clubs fault that the supplier didnt deliver on time. Its the club fault for not putting all plans on hold until the kit was on the shelves, the club, in hindsight, should have waited for all kit be delivered, then spend the next 2 weeks organising the potential launch, as after all, the launch wasn't just the kit, it was the sponsor too, so all that would have to be organised ONCE the kit arrived. Then waiting another week for the launch to take place, leaving the likes of Norway shirtless for an extra 3 weeks, because they waited for the shirts to arrive before doing anything. Yes, now that would have been great business. <doh>

And then in that situation, you would have the likes of Norway complaining that they are taking too long to organise the launch, why didn't they plan ahead, they knew when the kit was being delivered, why didn't they sort it all out beforehand, the commercial department are run by amateurs......I want my shirt *throws toys out of pram*

Its June ffs, how much earlier do you want it. How do you know the kit was not meant to be here last week? By which time the launch was already in full swing. How do you know that Adidas haven't promised multiple delivery dates in that time, and have failed to produce. You don't your just talking out of your backside. NorwayDai is what I will call you in future.

How do I know this was planned months ago? Well Leigh Dineen has said so on twitter, he obviously didn't give details but the launch at the end of June was pencilled in. He said a month ago there would be a preview about a week beforehand.

And Norway I have never said that the club were not responsible for some of the **** ups in the past, but when the second biggest kit supplier in the world say they are going to deliver you sort of take that as set in concrete.

Yes it's frustrating but as I mentioned these things happen, and I'm sure the club will not renew with Adidas unless there is a marked change in their attitude, there are plenty of kit suppliers out there, wouldn't mind us trying Puma or Nike as we have never had them as suppliers before

If I remember correctly Lee dineen mentioned that the club were planning to Launch at the end of June right ? so when it was clear things wernt going to plan the sponsers could have been unveiled in the usually fashion instead of trying to be clever and launch sponser, superstore store opening and new kit at the same time !!

Another example of ideas being bigger than the brains that manage them ...<laugh>

There were a million ways they could have gone about things. The kit could have come out 2 weeks later if they wanted, that was no problem, they could have waited until everything was stocked before opening a superstore, they could have unveiled the shirt and sponser last month if they really wanted(were they our sponsers last month though??) and given us a date when ALL kit will be available .

So many ways to do it but we chose the wrong way <ok>

I believe the club now release the new kit at the end of June, at least that's what has happened in the last couple of seasons. And like a lot of things retailers are at the mercy of suppliers, if they don't meet their obligations there are red faces all round when stuff like high profile cock ups happen. This is nothing new, and it will happen again at some point!

As for opening the superstore at the same time, they are renovating the club shop at the stadium, so that can only be done on the off season, so this cwmdu site opening makes little difference to Adidas not complying with their obligations. I'm not even sure if this superstore is permanent fixture as what would be the point of having two such stores when the stadium one opens.

You are right, i got my wires crossed. However, the kit was ordered early enough as the Away kit turned up, or is that not clear enough for you. The suppliers ****ed up the delivery. Else the home kit and the tracksuit stuff would have arrived. If it was the fault of the club, how do you explain the away kit being delivered?

Oh dear norway, how can the club get an order wrong, when the away kit, which is part of the order was delivered on time. Yet the club be at fault cos the home kit did not arrive. Adidas have accepted responsibility, they made a public statement, no company will make a statement like that if they were not in the wrong, its a PR disaster. If they hadn't ****ed up, the home kit would have been on the shelves ALONGSIDE the away kit.

I ordered and away shirt for my boy which has not been delivered. I'm not getting worked up over it because I'm not surprised.

This latest episode is clearly the fault of Adidas but the club has not been blameless in the past. Off the field certain things are a shambles, I'm surprised that no one has brought up the ticket fiasco for the Cup final when the club issued tickets for people and separated them, children given seats on their own away from their parents.

    Surely everything can't be a coincidence ?

They have had problems with Adidas with various different things over the years, Liverpool springs to mind a few years ago. And Dineen has said that a few teams have had problems this season, though I can't find much about that. Most people who complain are about the template they use and so on

I worked in the buying side of retail and sometimes there are delays even if there is a 9-12month foreword order, eg quality control failure, finance issues, tax issues! The factory would not be behind in manufacturing IMO, it's more plausible that there has been a logistics issue or the garments didn't pass quality control. But there is one thing I know this definitely out of the clubs hands!

Im not saying the club is blameless in a lot of issues regards to the commercial side of things, such as the pre orders of the away kits not being delivered, when they have been delivered to the club, but I cannot agree that the home shirt issue is the clubs fault in any way shape nor form.

Im with you swan_and_only, that this is most likely a logistical issue on Adidas's part.

One thing that will pi55 you all off, is that Southampton have just gone to Adidas and have the same home kit as us yes in red and white. This is the part that will pi55 us all off is that their kit went on sale yesterday and the had a shop full of shirts to sell. So where does the problem lie then????

Never works like that the factory would have a order deadline date, where the manufacturing runs will be booked in. there is NO way it's the clubs fault, even if there was a late order Adidas must have made a promise that they could not keep. So again not the clubs fault
