Time to tell Adidas to get stuffed. Would prefer us to do a deal with Nike when this current deal runs out.

Just like i said on another thread, the club are armitarish when getting any thing done ,They upset the manager, they mess around with laudrups plans, they cant decide in a reasonable time who the sponsors will be in order to get the kit in the shops and then in our european year they agreed a poultry £2 million deal that is laughable in 2013.<doh> So yes a big joke norway....

Well guys you will not find me getting all excited about our new shirts every season, have any of you noticed I can't be bothered on this subject? reason being is I learnt a long time ago, that our commercial department is crap, matter of fact, I would go as far as to say it is not Adidas fault but the clubs completely, the club have known for years how crap Adidas are, so why are they still dealing with these Muppet's? You cannot blame anyone but the club.

If any of you are in business then you'll know that if your supplier is letting you down, and is basically crap, then you 'kick the supplier into touch', and find another, something our board are having a great deal of difficulty understanding the concept of (Amazing for a football club)!..... Never mind a few more seasons in top flight, and we should see cloned shirts from china at half the price!....................<laugh>

They haven't treated the fans like mugs though, they entered a contractual agreement with the supplier to deliver the shirts etc by a certain date (hence the club deciding to unveil the shirt yesterday and go on sale today with pre orders and selected shops etc), but the supplier has been unable to meet the deadline for arrival. Given that it is Adidas, you would have expected a brand of this size to fulfill said agreements, however, they haven't and have thus apologised in a public statement for it.
The club cannot be blamed for the failings of the supplier, as they have been let down from a fainacial perspective as much as us fans who were looking to having our shirts delivered this morning etc.

Honestly Dragon its a wise move staying away!!...<laugh>

Some people really do think a professional operation is going on at the club, once again people are coming down on their side and not asking the searching questions !!

What Dai says about them dithering about which sponser causing a delay is not far away from the truth either by all accounts <ok>
People just think because we are prem league on the field we are off the field, id go as far as to say that the club is in the same stage now commercially as it was when we first got into the championship. <cheers>

In my opinion they have treated fans like mugs because they gambled on everything working out in the last minute! they took a chance on stuff turning up when it was obviously clear nothing was happening. Through all of this hardly none of you pro-commercial swans fans have asked about the training kits!! they are as popular as the football tops and they are no where in sight either ..<laugh>

So did Adidas get absolutely everything wrong or just a part of it ?

Some people have a pretty good idea and they could share it with us but either cant be arsed or don't care <ok>

On a serious note, I do think it's about time that the club 'shop' (Which basically it still is...<laugh>), should be run as a completely separate retail outlet, and it should be given to a franchise company that know how to run something like this on a global scale!..................<ok>

You are just speculating, why would adidas come up with a statement when in reality they didn't have to, I suspect that they will have a financial penalty for not abiding by their contractual agreement. And I am thinking that adidas are not good for us and will be gone after this situation with them as this is the last season we are with them.

And why do I think you are stressed, well read post 1 again and that is why I think you are taking this to personal. I just wait until things are sorted then when I go to the first game I will wear the new gear, until then I have the old gear from last season which is fantastic.

To many people want to blame the club for everything, for example Dai thinks we sorted out the sponsor yesterday, this was sorted months ago, quite clearly as there is kit available with the sponsor on there. You seem to think that there was a fault with the kit.

The fact is these things happen, and as you can't alter anything and you can't change the past there is not point getting 'stressed' about it. I am off on my summer hols soon and by the time I come back my order will be here. :)

Jager- I don't think you fully understand the significance of the whole thread, its not about getting a shirt as much as its about seeing how are club struggle with real business . This looses the club friends and money in the long term. Couple that with how they plead poverty and put ticket prices up and you can maybe understand the broader point of all this.

They tell us about costs but let many commercial oppurtunities slip through their fingers, the launch campaign is another example of failiure on a basic level, forget Addidas being late with the shirt, they were going to be late with everything else as well so why not either launch the sponsorship deal without the grand opening of the new store or just wait until enough kit is on the shelves.

Some of you people have no clue as to what goes on down there im afraid to say.

Everybody knows the club is moving faster than the brains behind it, there are plenty of ways to help solve the problem and employ the right professional people and experts but that costs money, the same money the club pour down the drain by not having stock to sell for the last 3/4 years.

As I said earlier,i have my away shirt for this season but myself and many others were prepared to spend much more but couldn't ,that's bad business in anybodys book <ok>

How can you forget about Adidas being late with the delivery ? They are the ones who caused this problem to begin with! The fact is this planned launch was scheduled months ago, and then reiterated about a month ago by the club.

But when a multi-national company says yes they will guarantee delivery, then fail in their obligations there is not a hell of a lot the club can do, they were again promised delivery by Adidas last week and it never came about, by then it was to late to do anything but hope it would be delivered, the club was in a catch 22 situation IMO .

You are quick to blame the club for everything under the sun, yes they are probably to blame for some things, but its unfair to blame them for everything, they are an easy target as you know in reality Adidas couldn't give a ****. As I said I hope this is the last season with them because we've had problems every season with them, and its not just our club having problems.

Well now your speculating as you have no idea that the launch was planned months ago <ok>

Its a shame you never read this thread properly Jager as I have always maintained through it Addidas were also to blame !!

And you are now also starting to accept that the club are to blame in this as well and that is good, it bodes well for the future to see people are not being blinded by spin at the Liberty.

Which ever way you think or who ever you blame responsibility lies with the club as well as its supplier, they operate in the service industry and when service isn't provided for whatever reason then questions must be asked.
Don't think for one minute I enjoy watching our club operate well below its potential, I hate it ! we can do a lot better and as I said before there is a pattern of incompetence that needs looking at, especially as every penny in this Global league is vitally important.

When the people running it cant quite handle certain aspects of it we as fans have the right to question it,its our club as well don't forget, there isn't a single Swans fan out the would be grudge the millions taken out by directors this season, but if you want executives money you must put in an executives days work and manage it to the required level, if you cant do that then you out source, exactly as Dragon has suggested.

We live in a digital age but our club operates in the clockwork age in certain aspects.

Everybody ****s up from time to time, I have no problem with that, thats how people improve ,but that's not happening with us,the same mistakes get made time after time, there seems to be a realisation that being local business men dealing in a Global business is proving difficult and is perhaps getting beyond a few of them, they will learn the pit falls im sure, but they will only learn if its made clear that people are not happy with poor service.

Some fans see this as an attack on the club,i don't see it that way, yes things were perhaps out of their control but if it was being managed correctly the problems would have been managed better, they wernt. <cheers>
