Your first point is nonsense, I have attempted to debate an alternative view, you have ignored it and still do.

A limited boycott is just not practicable and a daft theoretical solution that will leave opportunity for divisive action that will do PR damage.

Your personal choice is just crazy you seriously think you can muster what, a couple of coaches minimum, to pay to travel to the game and then pay again to travel home by some other means? Sorry, but that is just daft and introduces other issues.

Well, that was constructive of you. <laugh>

So, what's YOUR view? After all, that's pretty much what this thread is supposed to be about.

Merchant.I think it was probably intended as a rallying point. An opening salvo.
The lads making the banners had obviously shown commitment to something they feel strongly about.I thank them for it.
I am guessing but I think many would not forgo a pint to join a demo whether they agreed with the aims or not.

Stop being deliberately lazy or unintentionally stupid. My 5:12. and 5:42 posts of yesterday gave my thoughts on our best way forward, forward that is without coming up with childish logistical exercises in ineptness. I have offered my view throughout, as well as defending my right to hold it without it being inferred I am a scab. Your argument is failing the more you try and justify it. I don't laugh as it isn't funny anymore.

Definitely 1-0 to WYP, we're all well and truly divided now.

More childish abuse and negativity and still no constructive comment on the topic of how to move things forward.

So many words, so little said.

I don't think so. There are one or two posters being critical but offering little in return which tends to bore people and put them off joining in. Hardly a critical division. WYP have probably spent more money defending this silly action than they would have done if they'd just got on with their role as public servants.

I agree with you AND Pooltiger. The WYP have won as they have dictated the terms right from the start and without reguard to the consequences both short term and long term. As far as support for the team is concerned, speaking as one of the 360 at Burnley, where was all the support then? As they won at Burnley they have demonstrated they can win without a lot of support. In a strange way the team could be motivated by fans not being there, just as those who are motivated after a bereavement ( I know that's not a good analogy).
I've decided I will boycott the game , but will go to Huddersfield, in my Tigers shirt and watch the game with friends ( Huddersfield Town supporters who are also boycotting the game) in a town centre pub.
I doubt that our boycotting will have any effect , but I'll have a clear conscience. Others will act differently and I respect ther views.

So back on topic, looking at the pros and cons you've listed Dutch, I'm not really convinced about a boycott at the moment. I'm happy to be convinced otherwise on that but at the moment I'm leaning towards supporting the lads and vocally protesting at the game for the cameras to see and hear. You can pretty much guarantee that this game, no matter how many go, will produce a loud atmosphere from the away end.

You really do seem to be out for a pointless argument, what childish abuse, you are deliberately ignoring relevant comment and then using dismissive comments against me and childish emotcion to hide your bias and ignorance; but lets give you another try:

The tickets are being sold regardless of your activity.
There will be no total boycott and never was going to be.
The opening poster stated he is going to attend a pub and get bladdered, shout and sing - great, do you think so!?
I have said, now on a number of occasions, that I believe the PR battle is done at our level, in this instance, for the time being.
I have said that national organisations (FSF, politicians, et al), who are now involved should be left (and supported as appropriate) to tackle the bigger issue going forward.
Issues of illegality seem to have died with the legal challenge.
I have said that having won this national credibility, we should be cautious of not presenting situations where mindless elements can intercede and undo what has been done. Populating Hudds pubs and drinking in groups may well do just that.
I have said that the fight against the injustice should not stop, but we should be selective in how we fight it and, for me, a partial boycott is not it. I would have supported a full return of tickets, but as I have said elsewhere that is a moral dilemma for our club and I believe they have made the right decision for them.
Having done all of the above, I have questioned, not insisted, that our efforts might now be best rewarded by returning to another important principle of these boards and that is the support of our team at a critical time - I don't believe any cause would be deserted and no face lost, just a pragmatic next stage having achieved what has been achieved - unless you believe you can achieve more fron the WYP, if so please inform us all what that will be.

All of this is in my previous posts, but if you want it in Braille, no problem <whistle>

Would you think that the attendance at this game was always going to be low due to it being on Sky? Why I ask is that a strong form of protest would be to ignore Sky and attend the game, sell out the meager allocation and show them that we would have attended in greater numbers and with no problems - that is the best way to make them look wrong, prove it to them. This way there is noting but ifs, buts and maybes - for all of the good intentions!

Agreed ^^^^^ this. Its got much more to do with the future than the Udders game for sure.

To think that Nottingham Forest has over 3400 fans in Hull saturday who came and went as they pleased and did what they wanted with no problems at all. Why dould Hull City fans not be allowed the same thing ? <ok>

Fair points, I'd suggest any 'victory' for the WYP is a Pyrrhic one as they'll have to spend as much as if the game had gone ahead and they've been sown to the world for the incompetents that they are.

I can see why people are undecided about the boycott, there are arguments both ways. Like you, I'd prefer a good frank discusion and suggestions on where we go from here.

It'd be interesting to get a view from the FSF on the current state of things.

Quite funny that you want discussion yet fail to create it. I have responded to your need for detail (again) and I have expanded as above; do you have any constructive comment?

Whilst the Forrest fans were doing that, the WYP were looking after Leeds v Huddersfield and then Huddersfield v Hull FC. Seemingly we're too much for them.

I've just read the Clubs official statement. Well worded and supportive of all fans. I'll be joining the march before returnining to Huddersfield town centre to watch the match in a local pub.

I will be watching the game in the ground, having parked up at that poxy service station and paying 2 quid to be a bus ****er, and I will be singing, loudly, happy in the knowledge that Sky do not filter out the words like the BBC does. Can we get some decent songs sorted before hand, and maybe shared with the Udders fans? Would they join in with us do you think?

I choose to support my team in this manner. I also support and admire those who will be travelling to Udders to not go in to the game and to watch in local pubs. As long as there is no trouble, anywhere, the combination of the 2 sets of fans inside and outside, should hopefully draw attention to this travesty.

WYP will not win regardless, unless there is ANY trouble. With no trouble, and lots of City fans in and around Udders, they will look bad.

Then next season, how many games will be be playing in the WYP region when we're in the PL? Come the first day back at work after Easter, I suspect the majority will have forgotten about this and will just move on.

To be honest i don't think "WE" can have a intelligent discussion or give an opinion regarding this matter! If two people don't agree it becomes a bitch fight and goes totally off topic! And god help you if you go against the admins views on forums,

For my part i have sent emails off to those concerned as this has affected me more then some living in hull. Boycotting the game is not going to work in my opinion and don't think its a good idea for fans to make there own way there and protest i feel it could undo all the work that has been done and only reinforce WYP stance

Maybe the best way forward is to get other clubs who have been bubble wrapped to games to join up and contact MP's in there constituency and other relevant parties and seek for a legal case towards the police ?

Beer, fans, protest !!! not a good cocktail
