Well yeah obviously, but now we are 3rd in the Championship, 3 seasons after playing 2 seasons in the Prem, it shows that we are a club on the up!

We're a few places above our lifetime average and with less assets than we've had in the past as we don't own the ground and have a higher debt than we've ever had, albeit manageable and owed to someone that in reality can't claim it.

A division two side at a low point is hardly the same thing now is it. :laugh:

What year were Leicester in the third tier? Let's pick that year as the start and claim that's all Leicester were. <ok> That would be bollocks, would it not?

I think you are really struggling to grasp the difference between being a divison 4 side and a divison 4 club.

Our attendances now are on par with what they were 10 years ago, yet are far less than what they were 50 years ago.

The level of football is higher now than what it was 10 years ago, but not as high as it was 4 years ago, 20 years ago, 30, 40 or 50 years ago. We have spent the majority of our existence at our current level.

If you want to gauge whether we have grown as a club it needs to be looked at over a longer period in order to get a realistic picture of where we currently are compared to our past.

Would extending the KP to 45K be worth the expenditure taking into account your inability to currently fill the Walkers? Do you have 25K apathetic supporters?

The recent 'massive' rise also includes a few minutes away from liquidation and one of if not the largest debts in our history with no concrete assets. :laugh:

It was a massive bone of contention at the time. The owners wanted 35,000 but Sport England, who were supposed to fund an element of it, said it should be 15,000. Ironically it was Trevor Brooking at the forefront of that, and the last time he played here was in front of something like three times that number.

We also suffer from small minded local politicians that favour the local rugby, who don't need a big stadium.

So between them, we were allowed 25,000 with a built in design to increase it over 30,000 if/when needed at the risk of all Sport England money being pulled from this area if we disagreed.

Unfortunately, when we needed the expansion, nobody had the money. Our current chairman has proposed some schemes, but there's been a major falling out between him and our local council, to the extent thy won't speak and the chairman's threatening to build his own stadium for us.


The problems are made worse as the club has no control over the stewards and concessions, so the match day experience can't be improved without a lot of negotiations.

Thanks for the info, quite interesting.

How will your owners be allowed to build a new stadium if they won't communicate with the local council. Are they going to build it outside their catchment area? If so, perhaps all this new stadium talk is a bluff to worry the local authority over loss of income.

A no point as anyone mentioned what level you have spent most of your history

I said as a club you have grown massively over the past 10 year and DMD is arguing against it. He comes here with the sole intention of arguing with us

You have gone to places like Old Trafford, Anfield, Stamford Bridge in a league game. Gone to Arsenal and won. Even been in a higher divison then Leeds United in them 10 years

To suggest you havent grown as a club is ludacrious

It's suggested it'll be outside of Hull. Our owner owns a large stretch of land to the west of Hull. It's possibly a bluff, but he is the sort that could carry it out if he has to.

The issue isn't really income as the Authority make nothing from the stadium, it's more about retention of assets and control.
