What a pompous post you make. Who are you to dictate when, where and why someone should attend a game; I use attend intentionally because they don't necessarily have to be supporters, maybe just fans - if there is such a distinction in your world.
To live in your world, folk have to qualify their reason for attending and also their reason for not attending - do they do this to you; have you set-up some mechanism so you can pigeon-hole folk according to your footballing values? Perhaps you will write a supporters manifesto that might make it clear that to attend once makes it a lifetime obligation. Then again, why not just live and let live; accept that folk will do as they wish and enjoy your own existence? When they built the stadium they never expected maximum attendances or they would have built it bigger â it was built for normal people in a normal world and not everyone puts The Tigers at the top of their lifetime priorities.
For my part, I think it is fundamentally disloyal of the manager to field a total second-eleven for a competitive match in a competition that with a bit of luck we have every chance of doing well in. I donât make the effort to travel to reserve matches â just how was yesterday anything other?
For your part you keep repeating that folk do not have to justify themselves to you; does this cleanse your bigoted conscience, as it is a false premise as the folk that you indirectly criticise certainly do appear to have to justify themselves to you; just as everyone else does to exclude them from your sorting process. Big Brother is alive and well after all!
Oh and by the way, are you sure your broad-brush approach works and that all of the people who did not attend because of the crap team selection would really, 100%, agree that the PL only attenders were 'Glory-hunters'?
