Wonder if we'll go 352 or 442 for this one? If he plans on playing the likes of Stewart, Rosenior and Dawson it'd have to be 442.
But if he wants the likes of Prossie, Cairney and Simpson to prove they've got what it takes for the first XI it should be 352.

Does it matter against Orient ? I would guess it could well be 4-4-2.

I would only include Simpson on the bench along with Chester and Meyler just in case. Fill up the bench with some kids and lets see what they have got. imo.

I think it does matter, he'll want to see how the fringe players cope in the system that we play so he can decide if they're worth a place in the starting XI. But then he might fancy 442 as more effective with the personnel he plans to pick if he just wants the win simple as that.

I can't help thinking that all the line-ups we are suggesting that are out "second team" are almost last years "first team".

It just shows how far we have come in a year.

I'm sure, given the right personel, he'd have preferred to stick with 3-5-2, but with Rosie and Dawson likely to start and the three first choice centre backs likely be rested, I think we will have to go 4-4-2.

Indeed it does. 4-4-2 suits the players that Steve Bruce has said will play on saturday. But yes when you look at the possible starting eleven it should still be more than good enough.

Which I'm against, first (well third) round exits for us and Derby please.

NO CHANCE. I also think there is a great chance that our home game with Charlton on sat Feb 16th will also be postponed. FAC 5th rd day.

So you want us to lose the game tomorrow?

I can see what he means. At the game I certainly won't want us to lose but winning will just clog up the fixtures. Yes we can just play reserves all the way through the cups but if games like Derby get postponed and we have to play them midweek when everyone else is having a rest that will have a big negative effect on us, it always does.

Playing devil's advocate, why bother entering the FA Cup then?

I appreciate that playing increased amounts of games increases the chance of fatigue and possible injuries, but winning games increases confidence in the players. Having a cup run also would increase revenue, and with so many clubs concentrating on the league/Europe, it is not inconceivable that a club such as ours could do well. Millwall and Cardiff have made it to cup finals recently, and Bradford are in the semi final of the league cup.

Jak
McShane - Bruce - Daws
Rosie - McKenna - Cairney - Oli - Quinn
Big Nick - Simmo

GK? Evans, Chester, Meyler, East, Clarkson

Start as 3-5-2 with scope to go 4-5-1 if Daws cant cope in the 3.

I expect:

Jak
Rosenior Bruce Macca Dawson
Stewart Oli Mckenna Cairney
Big Nick Simmo

Although I think he would like to play cairney in centre midfield, he doesn't have any other real wide options does he? Assuming Mclean leaves.

Hope East gets a chance

So do I, but I don't really see it. Probably come off the bench.

I think start him or dont involve him at all. If he comes off the bench for a cameo appearance, it eliminates him going back out on loan to a different club (unless its an emergency loan)
