Imagine the buzz if it turned out that he'd been dropped... and everyone thought it was true. Doubt he'd sign for us though, their new owners seem to have the money to persuade him to stay
Pretty sure it's piss take but funny how many people are talking about it now. Never rated him myself but 18 goals says he'd be a good addition. With talk of Wigan bidding £4 million I think we'd be out the running, don't know why they'd want him though, really doesn't match Martinez's philosophy.
18 goals match any managers philosophy, thats the point of the game - score goals and win games. As a striker he is pretty much an all round player, as are Lambert and Holt and there dioing great up there.
Disagree, Becchio has fairly poor ability on the ball, passing and striking a ball cleanly. He has scored a lot of goals but I don't think a side like Swansea would want him as he doesn't have the technical ability to allow them to play their natural game.
I think he has improved this season from what I have seen of him, great finish against Chelsea. Fingers crossed he can't control the ball tommorow like but I have a feeling he might be on the scoresheet.
I think his game relies heavily on his power and strength, if you still Faye on him like we did at Elland Road he struggles to make an impact. Hence why they subbed him relatively early on.
Top Banana Fact for you's! He's 29 today SO if (and its a whopping big 'IF'), if he was looking at one decent shot at the top flight, would he stand a better chance at it with us or with TWS? Granted, they've come into some money but we've seen it and heard it before. 1: Mass exodus of players, huge income and it can still take a good season or 2 to turn things around. Or, 2: New owners come in and rape the club for whatever they can. What I'm trying to say is, has he got doubts about their takeover/wants a final payday/genuinely fancies our chances of going up?
Just because Geo said team's philosophies don't matter if a player is prolific and I was giving an example of a team with a strong philosophy who I don't think would take on anyone purely because they could score goals.
Ah, I get it now. Bit slow up the uptake there. According to the YEP Warnock is considering leaving Becchio out as he is on 4 yellows and would get an automatic suspension if he gets a 5th tomorrow. After Jan 1st 5 cards is not an automatic. Doesn't sound very plausible.
As I said on the other thread that would be stupid..................................to make sure a player doesnt miss a game with suspension he misses a game
I'm not saying I believe the rumours of him signing, but like you say that makes no sense. The game against us is one of the biggest they will face atm. If they take our scalp they'll be on the very of the play-offs having beaten a top-2 side. That's exactly the type of game they need their best players for. Why give yourself a self-imposed ban against the second place side, in order to guarantee he won't be banned against Bolton - who are in terrible form anyway?
