I think what we can learn is that F1 2011 is a stupid game, and the people who play it (myself included) are silly prats for wasting our money on it.

Everyone wants different things from the games. Your opinion on what it should be is not final.

I think this game is more about trying to avoid the prats, who have been given the advantage due to reversed penalties (the victim gets punished).
Basically things have gone bad to worse from f1 2010 to f1 2011.

OK, my apologies.

Sorry, i just get annoyed by the constant criticism. It has flaws, but too many dismiss it as irredeemably awful when it really isnt'

Dont take an online race with randoms seriously on any racing game, Lot of people just out to ruin it for others. I will say the penalties are really annoying though. Worst part of the game, but with so many calls being "debateable" in real life i can at least sympathise with the task of making a code that gets them right. I think the only difference is that it seems stricter than 2010, like they tried to combat people like that but it really hasnt worked. All thats changed is now i get a 20 second penalty for turning in to early and cutting a corner by fractions to gain about 1/100 of a tenth.

I do tend to enjoy offline more which is a shame.

yeah, trick is to find people that will race fairly and sensibly, friend them, and race mainly with them. Make a note of the dick heads so if they appear in your session you can get everyone to keep an eye on them so when they do what they do everyone knows who it is.

tbh unless the track is wet, it's seems to be the same karting.

So true, I friend the good people, learn a bit of German or Spanish on the side to tie relations, or to swear at them.
Tu madre es un puta, tramposo!! is something that is thrown around alot lol.

If we could get 24 of us, if we could have some sort of custom championship online where we would meet on a few weekends and play out the season with fair, competitive players who aren't ****s. Make the cars equal to make it fair. I hope a game like that is possible in my life time!

If it's anything like 2011, that will not be a good thing. The HRT/Williams/Sauber/Mclaren are the best four cars, while the Ferrari/Renault/Toro Rosso are much slower than the others.

I think the Renault is excellent actually, handles brilliantly. The Ferrari is dreadful though.

I hope they sort the penalties out for this game. The penalties I received for incidents which were definitely not my fault was ridiculous. That needs to be addressed

Yeah Renault, Sauber, Williams and HRT and Mclaren are the best.
I drive with the Mercedes and Lotus as often as I can XD.. It is somewhere in the middle of good and ****.

Hate the Ferrari and FI are pretty bad...

Best track is Suzuka, so fast flowing.

I bought F1 2011 for PC after reading quite a few reviews, and I just don't like the game at all. It feels like an arcade game.

I'll still with Grand Prix Legends, it might be a simulator based in the late 60's but at least it's a simulator, and teh 1960's car are awesome. I think my next F1 based game will be rFactor.

Or F1 Championship Edition (2006) a little arcade, but the drive is nice and the frame-rate is better than the F1 2011 crap that belongs in the PS1 era.

Some updates from their twitter:

  • You won't be able to design your own helmets
  • They're tweaking the sensitivity of the cars to make them more fragile, but no wholesale changes to the damage model.
  • They have two t-cam views, one which is dead centre, and another which is slightly to the left like on TV.
  • Race distances you can choose are: 3L, 5L, 25%, 50%, 100%
  • When a car ahead is subject to a blue flag, his outline colour changes to blue on the mini-map.
  • No podium
  • Tyre/fuel management and pit strategy are going to play a more important role than ever. Big improvements made!
  • AI improvements
  • No formation lap

I'm gonna lose a lot of front wings, especially at Monaco and Singapore I think.
