I was just thinking that he ruled himself out after Pearson left but didnt remember him saying anything this time, if he was considered before why wouldnt he be now
bollox. why is keeping quiet until it's decided a farce? all you're unhappy with is the constant rumour mill.. and that's all it is.. rumours until confirmed. just enjoy it or keep clear as it WILL do your head in... There are plenty of people who want to appear important and in the know.. and they confuse the issue.. on the appointment, I'm personally pleased with the way it's been handled (post-barmby that is)
How do you enjoy silence? Communication with your support/custom is key. It has to be. There has been none.
Kinda different from the pundit and co-commentator roles. pundits have a lot more free time when out covering a tournament compared to the commentators who have to attend all training sessions related to the game they cover and essentially cover a game every 2 days or so with a lot of travel! The pundits are based in one area in a studio with more free time. I know McCarthy has very little time to discuss anything with the Allams whilst he will be out there (obviously his agent can) and I also don't think the Allams will want somebody who is then going off for the first half of the summer and not focussing on the club. You're right the fact he is going to the Euros doesn't rule him out. But I stil maintain it isn't going to be McCarthy.
The HDM now saying it isn't Bruce: Hull City: Boss hunt rumbles on after agent says Steve Bruce isn't in frame HULL City's search for a new manager will extend into next week â with hot favourite Steve Bruce apparently now out of the running. Former Sunderland boss Bruce started yesterday morning as the odds-on favourite to take the Tigers' hotseat. Steve Bruce is apparently out of the running for the vacant Hull City manager's post. It came after bookies had suspended betting on him late on Thursday night after a surge of bets. However, Bruce's agent Rob Segal yesterday told the Mail reports he was set to take the job were "completely untrue". When asked to say whether Bruce had been approached by City, he insisted he had not. He also said Bruce had not expressed any interest in becoming the Tigers' next manager. "It's not true at all," he said when asked if Bruce was negotiating over the position. "I have had no contact at all from Hull City. City have not approached us at all. If they wanted Steve Bruce as their manager all they would have to do is to call me. I could then speak to Steve and find out if he is interested in the position." The news comes as former Forest boss Billy Davies, a man thought to have been ruled out in the early stages, is now believed to remain in contention. An official announcement is not now due until Wednesday at the earliest. http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-16258428-detail/story.html?
keeping your cards close to the chest so as not to give the competition or the prospective candidates any leverage is critical. I for one am happy that its being dealt with in a businesslike manner by people who look like they know how to run a business.
Which scenario is worse - the one where a number of managers are being linked to the club but everyone is keeping quiet in terms of Hull City management. Or a gun-ho board who name their targets only be turned down by numerous managers, making the club a laughing stock among opposition fans on the media. Is Wednesday a definite or like the previous times where we'll be appointing Bruce etc on a specific day
You have got to think that the Owners preferred Manager/ Managers ( 2 in the frame?). 1. Didn't want to come here for whatever reason(s). 2. Are waiting for the outcome of other Managerial positions being filled. If it was Lee Clarke or Billy Davies I cannot see any reason why they could not have been announced by now. Bemused to say the least.
....and on, and on, and on we go..... Tigers manager approaches denied Rumours that managerless Hull City have approached Steve Bruce and Greg Abbott have been denied by the two parties. The Tigers are without a manager after dismissing Nick Barmby from his role last month and are now in search of a new chief at the KC Stadium. But speculation that senior figures at Hull have spoken to Bruce and Carlisle United boss Abbott about taking over at the Championship outfit has now been dismissed. Bruce's agent Rob Segal told the Mail: "It is completely untrue. "I have had no contact at all from Hull City. Hull City have not approached us at all. "If they wanted Steve Bruce as their manager all they would have to do is to call me. I could then speak to Steve and find out if he is interested in the position." A spokesman for Carlisle told in the News and Star: "We have genuinely had no contact from Hull about Greg." Brentford manager Uwe Rosler is the latest name to be linked with the Hull vacancy. http://www.clubcall.com/championship/tigers-manager-approaches-denied-1435110.html?
I don't mind that the owners are keeping quiet in their search for a manager. What does worry me is the length of time it is taking. They should have realistic targets that want to come to the club. It's appearing like Fraizer Campbell all over again. By the time we get a manager and he decides who he wants to keep, sell and buy the season will have nearly started and his options will be limited.
Obviously not, they sacked everyone I got information from, that's from Bruce's agent. You'd think he'd know if his client was speaking to someone, wouldn't you?
Has Houghton gone to Norwich? Is the Brum job available? I haven't kept up to date with any of the news tbh. If that job does become available he might want to go back to one of old clubs.
Its on Talksport Bruce offered job so fairly conclusive now...Though they could offer it to lord Lucan riding on Shergar and still have the same result.
He's experienced, but almost all his experience is as a No.2. He's only actually managed a team for one game. He lost it.
