If true, then hats off to the Allams - Bruce is as good as we could hope for and much better than many of the names banded about on here recently
I think most people can think for themselves Mel and don't need to be spoonfed opinions from supporters clubs. I'm actually happy it's Bruce, time to get on with things again and rebuild UTT
i think bruce would be a decent shout, certainly compared to some of the names out there! . i dont go along with we are lucky he is considering us etc tho, hes a decent championship manager and we are a decent championship club, so a good fit.
Agreed, will settle for Bruce after some of the other names linked, good luck to him and hope he doesn't jump ship like Pearson at the first opportunity
However just to completely confuse matters Burnsy's just put on twitter 'I'm told the Allam's and Steve Bruce will meet Friday afternoon to hopefully seal the deal. #hcafc', Do Humberside not speak to each other or something? From what he's said it doesn't exactly sound signed and sealed...
Personally I love the thought that we could have a "household name" manager. It would send a serious message out about the owners desire to get us into the PL. As for my last post, I am simply saying that after hardly ever reading about the OSC all of a sudden its all over the threads like a rash. It all seem so disjointed and it puzzles me.
I am not actually a member of the supporters club but have thought about joining. Maybe their opinion of the Allams have been soured by dealings they have had with him. My misgivings are just like you said, "a feeling". However hats off to them if they have managed to get Bruce. I just hope that they get some players signed now.
I know he has a bit of a reputation for spending money at other clubs with better means, but you have to assume he must have been promised a bit of a budget by the Allams. Anyway, nothing official as yet, so still time for one or the other party to get cold feet. If you think about where we are and where he has been, to be fair Steve Bruce as manager is a bit of a ku (sic)
David Burns ‏@bbcburnsy I may be a day out @mattdeanradio thinks it's going to happen and we may see announcement Friday. #hcafc
I'd say if I didn't know better that he's been lined up for a bit. Honestly, can we please see a good wedge spent on bringing Turner home Mr Allam?
Burnsy has just said that Mat Dean's information might be more up to date and it might be a done deal already with announcement on Friday
Well done Allams..... They were patient and got their rewards. Will be good to keep hold of the playing staff and attracting new signings. Also should bring in an experienced coaching staff. I have not commented since Barmbys sacking and just wanted to leave it in the hands of those who saved our club! I understand sceptical fans from our Lloyd days who find trust hard, and to be honest their "gift" to the city to good to be true, I did! So again I wait to see what happens next?
Quite happy with Bruce (especially given the other suggested names), I do still find it very strange his agent went public to deny any contact only last Friday - why deny it, surely saying nothing would have been the better option. It will be interesting to see how many of his back room staff come in, id be surprised if it was a lot, maybe just him and an assistant. Let's hope the Allams give him so money to strength the key areas we need and that this time next year we will be looking forward to another Premiership season.
Let's hope Bruce has some contacts left up his sleeve. Hopefully Chester, Evans, Stewart and Dudgeon will like having a Man Utd legend as their boss. What formation did Bruce play at previous clubs? If Bruce does sign then we do have a big name manager taking over.
Agreed. They generally think its a good appointment on the Sunderland message board.http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=707045
It would be nice to think the contacts / scouting network he worked with at Wigan, which was excellent, will now be available to us. Wonder what Rodallega is upto at the moment?
Hopefully this is a good start for the healing process between fans and owners after the Barmby issue. We still might not get Bruce but at least we know that the Allams are showing positive ambition by targetting him and not going for a cheap option.
