I don't like cheats in any sport or in life for that matter but lets be honest football is full of cheats. We see it in every game by every team every week. But there are levels of cheating, some are 'acceptable' like deliberate fouling, diving and time wasting, others it seems, like someone filming a training session, are far more serious? I'd question that.
Every team since the game was invented has tried to gain an advantage on their opponents. I've sat alongside people at City who were scouting for our next opponents, watching our every move, huge dossiers made, in open view of everyone.
It was a ****ty move by Southampton to have someone sneaking about in the woods filming a training session, its not in the spirit of the game, and it certainly isn't cricket, but neither is blatant diving or faking an injury to get a player sent off yet we see that every week at all levels.
For this incident to serious delay a Championship Play Off Final at Wembley is disgraceful handling by the EFL, even worse because we are the innocent party.
But lets all be honest, it's a storm in a teacup whipped up by Middlesboro because they lost. When the they could have had this tie wrapped up in the first 45 mins of the first leg if they could have taken just a couple of the multiple chances they made, it's sour grapes.
Southampton deserve a hefty fine because it was an underhanded move by them, but for me there are far more issues of cheating in football that could be dealt with then someone filming a training session on his phone.
