I think the cleanest / most simple solution is to promote us, then the EFL have all summer to decide the saints punishment
Its right SW3 the more you think about it... the EFL were praying Boro won on Tuesday... their get out here is to allow the final to take place whilst the adjudication committee consider their verdict....no need to interfere with supporters plans, tickets, travel, accommodation. They get the game on TV. If City win, they're out of the ****, if Southampton win they can kick them out after deliberations and City go up and do to Southampton whatever they deem fit. I cannot personally see any reason whatsoever the EFL give Boro another bite at the cherry with zero to lose and as someone said above Acun will have his lawyers all over it.

Sorry TigerMaul im pretty much stating what you posted.

I don't see a world in which the EFL would not have a Play Off Final game. They should have confirmed the final will go ahead, have the hearing, and depending on the outcome of that, impose a suitable punishment, entirely separately to the final.

The more I think about it I think that’s what the EFL is doing. Southampton and ourselves will probably have both sold our ticket allocations by tomorrow night. That’s a hell of lot of refunding to do if Southampton get expelled before the final. It’s a logistical and administrative nightmare to move the game and then have Boro and us get tickets for a midweek game the following week

I think they will have some preliminary finding by Tuesday but announce the game goes ahead but a decision regarding Southampton’s fate takes place after the final ie treat it completely separately.

If we win on the day we are up. If we lose, part of the final decision regarding Southampton’s fate includes their exclusion from the prem.

Outcome
1) boro happier because Southampton punished for breaking the rules on spying
2) Southampton having admitted guilt have to accept the punishment.
3) Both sets of fans get a day at wembley with no costly rearrangements
4) efl get their big payday and protect the integrity of the competition

It's far and away the cleanest and most simple, but it'll never happen due to the revenue involved in the final...they aren't ever going to say bye bye to that income

That would have to be done quickly as we are already behind other promoted and PL teams in preparations for next season. Southampton have to be expelled so why delay?

20% of my private pension goes in income tax. Hey ho, public services don't pay for themselves. :emoticon-0138-think

You didn't pay tax when it went in over the years and sone of it will have been 25% .
So the 20% tax is actually 15% due to the 25% tax free element .
What they should do now is tax your pension contributions at 15% like they do in Australia then there's no issue when you get it

Its always the fans that suffer, I've got no bad feelings towards their fans but as a club with years of integrity behind them to allow this to happen is fkn shocking. They have clips of every team, every player, every game plan, but the kraut comes in and straight away tries to fiddle to gain an advantage. For me he, as head of the footballing side of things, has to carry the can, boot him out of English football, fine the club together with a points deduction. Play the game as arranged and be done with it.

Depressing again all this , had a little buzz yesterday getting the tickets, now it’s back to the doubht and speculation , when it should be a great week of expectation
Id say with like 90% certainty
The game wont be moved

The only thing id say that could happwn bur very unlikely is

Its cancelled and we get a bye to the prem

Don’t think you fully understand pensions. And the difference between a lot of public sector pensions and private ones.
