Pompey made five changes for Wednesday away, including bringing in back-up keeper Ben Killip, who was born round the corner from me in Isleworth. Let’s hope they make even more for Saturday and give the whole squad a chance.
Let’s hope they decide to play fly keeper aswell

That seemed to be central to the strategy again today: four times we blasted it way over the bar from just outside the box. I hate watching us do that. It's been a problem for ages and we just never seem to improve on it. People who can't strike a ball and keep it down shouldn't be shooting from miles away. It's pathetic.
Ye that one where kamara and Coyle exchanged passes, not that Coyle ever ever does anything good like, and Coyle laid it for Egan to sky it over

where the **** was puerta or Alzate for that hit??

The keeper they brought into the team yesterday, Ben Killip, is actually their third choice keeper, played just so the manager could ‘take a look at him’ before his short term contract expires. You just know if he stays in the team, he’ll play a blinder, but he’s never played above League One before. (Irrelevant fact - his mum and my wife were in the same post-natal group many years ago). https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/...ey-keeper-against-sheffield-wednesday-5101134

Get all of our physically imposing players on the pitch next week - we can't allow them to bully us.

Pandur
Coyle Hughes Egan (if fit) Macca
Geldhardt Crooks Puerta Amrabat
Palmer
Pedro
I know he’s been banned but I’ve said I’d play crooks all the time as he’s one of the few goal threats
Him gelhardt and pedro will take a shot on

Gelhardt is wasted out wide. Through the centre or don't bother.

This is the only reason I can think of for not playing Crooks. But even then it doesn't seem enough of a reason to have him sat on the bench and no one on the pitch who can attack a cross.

Other thing I suppose is maybe he can't press like Joseph can, but when why did we sign him?

Trying to be positive

The one thing we cannot attack against
Is a low block

Portsmouth whether they are on the beach or not
Will not play like that at all

There will be far more space and chance for counters...

Just keep it tight. Pass the ball around a bit. Hope Pandur keeps us in the game for 80 minutes. Then fluke a pen or something in the last 10 too stay up?

As said above - be careful what you wish for. And said at the time the club was put up for sale by the Allams. Ah yes, that would be the same time, that if you proffered the opinion the Allams would be seen as "better owners", seventy eight pages of vitriol would spew forth.

Administration has been mentioned again during this thread. I remind you all, once again, of the words of Adam Pearson uttered at our last flirtation with impending financial meltdown. "Administration was not an option. There was nothing to administer". I can see no reason why anything in that statement has changed.

If it was me, I would sack this Rosenior fella, and get someone in who can move us up the table....Ah, oooops, yes, sily me.
