There's so much to say about that game but most of it has been said before. Just the same failures again and again and again and again at home. It's hard to believe.

The fact that we concede so few goals, yet so reliably concede from set pieces at a crucial moment whenever we play a poor side at home, is just so hard to understand and accept. It makes no sense but the pattern just keeps being reinforced. We almost never keep a clean sheet but also very rarely concede twice in a game. Always just enough to harm any chance of a result, and always a soft goal from a set piece. If we were leaking goals all over you'd say we just have a bad defence but we clearly don't. It's infuriating.

I think it's easy to say Selles was playing for a draw but I don't think it's true. I don't think that not making a sub equates to playing for a draw. I think it was pretty clear that Derby were actually the ones happy to hang on before they scored. They were starting to waste time and have a lot of players going down causing stoppages and stuff.

Our problem, as it has been all season but particularly over the last few weeks, is that we have no goal threat. Why it's been so much worse after the international break is the big question. It looks like it's going to relegate us just when Selles appeared to be on the verge of securing our safety. I believe he's a good manager and I don't believe at all in questioning his position but something has gone badly wrong in recent weeks and he has undone some of his prior good work. We were 10/1 to be relegated a few weeks ago and now we stare it in the face. There are a lot of reasons we are where we are but this recent total collapse in attacking play is one of them.
We have no goal threat as you say, but this is due to the manager picking a striker who hasn't scored all season, and never looks like has anything to get behind a defence. Selles did have Pedro Burstow or Gelhardt who could play in that position today .All Joseph was doing was running about a lot like a player from the lower leagues, so we had no outlet when we did win possession hence the ball being lofted aimlessly up or going backwards .The situation with Selles picking Joseph reminds me a bit of Acun keeping Walter in a job way longer than he should have , just rank bad management either way. Add to that it took until the game was lost for him to be subbed off.

Its about time the club captain (forget his footballing skills) comes out and speaks for the team.

I’d rather he didn’t TC, He did that during the week, giving it large about the importance of the Derby game, look where that got us.

So, morning after reflection, still gutted & naffed off. We controlled the game with steadiness, possession, just a distinct lack of creativity/quality in the final third, impotent in the area that matters, and that’s been the case for ages. Derby didn’t really offer anything or trouble us, but always capable from set pieces, as it came to pass. I just didn’t get the Jones sub, unless injured. Selles obviously decided, wrongly, to settle for a draw, dangerous tactic, should have changed it up to proactively go after the win on 60 mins, that indecision has come back to bite him. Everyone watching could see Amrabat was out on his legs.

To be honest, deciding our fate shouldn’t have come down to this game, consistency, or lack of, has been our downfall. We’ve been sleep walking into L1 for several months. Brill results against Sund’lnd, Leeds, etc, mean Jack **** when we lose so many games to those around us. Haven’t seen/heard Selles post match reaction, no doubt he’ll bleat on about us having been competitive…my arse. Competitive should mean in all areas of the pitch. Fortune favours the brave. Let’s see what we’ve got in us next week, last chance saloon, twist or bust. UTT.

Egan was injured and asked to be subbed - after scything down the Derby player to give away a needless freekick, Jones then didn't challenge for the header into the box and stayed rooted to the spot - whatever happens we need a real clear out - problem is if we go down, those we want to stay will want out and those we want to leave will want to stay

How many chances did his attacking teammates create for Joseph yesterday? I’d wager it was none. Joseph has his strengths and weaknesses, but to single him out when he wasn’t given the basic tools to do his job feels very harsh to me.

One of the few advantages of getting older is that the negative feelings after a poor result don’t linger as long as they used to, thankfully!
I’ll cling on to the feint hope that we can conjure up a result that sees us safe next week but after yesterday, I really can’t see it.
How have we ended up in this situation in just 12 months? As many have said, the blame has to largely lay at the owner’s doorstep, as he’s the one who has made the big decisions and got most of them wrong.
Typical owner with a Football Manager mentality and someone else’s money to burn.

Lots of comments saying Sellés should have gone for the win and also how we have lots of players that would never score no matter how long they’re on the pitch.

If we don’t have any players capable of scoring, how exactly should Sellés go for the win?

You could have Pedro, Burstow, Joesph, Gelhardt, Kamara etc. all on the pitch at the same time and it’s never happening.

We know none of our current crop are capable of scoring and I’m sure Sellés does too. I think he’s playing a crap hand as well as he can in all honesty.

Not even manging once to have two consecutive wins is pathetic

We've sleepwalked to relegation
While the teams around us won consecutive games

Home losses to stoke, luton n derby too

Theyre all a bunch of ****s

Who coaches him? No one telling him where to be for a pass, he runs around like Forest Gump but can't just stop in space in the box to receive a pass, got the engine also needs guile.

His post match interview was even worse.

Bit of a “oh well, nothing we can do. Try next week” message that didn’t go down well at all in the comments.

Selles didn't even try to play a crap hand with his too late substitutions.

I may be wrong but this reads like Egan gave away the freekick they scored from? I don’t remember Egan needlessly scything down a player? Surely he’d have received a yellow?

A few things.
When we signed all these players it was said that they were good players. Players that had done well and shown promise at other clubs. The guy on loan from Leeds great there crap for us.
The only new signing who can hold his head high is Hughes, matched the hype.
All the other teams have the same problems but they have all shown fight, no super star players. Luton, Cardiff, derby and other crap teams have beaten us.
Is the manager the right one for a relegation battle, talks to the media with fluffy words in mono tone. If that's how he talks to the players no wonder they come out for the second half all sleepy.
And for the owner to take all the flak, he's put in millions buying players others have told him to. Some wanting him to sell up must be mad.

Previous poster questioned why Egan had been subbed - because he was injured - I then said Jones scythes down player ,- thought I was being clear - perhaps not
