Even if something like that was true, creating a fuss about it before our last game and chance to survive is just self sabotaging really isn't it. Enjoy your night at treehouse boys, but win on Saturday please.
1 from open play in the last 7....Kamaras deflection Vs cov in that same time we've only conceded 2 from open play, cov deflection and Watford's goal, if you don't count the laugh or cry own goal against luton
We have. Three times. Kamara v WBA. Hughes v Wednesday. Kamara (deflected) v Coventry. It's still shockingly poor. And as poor as the players have been in attacking terms, I lay the blame at the feet of Selles for the way he's set us to play since the break and for his decision making. Edit: twice, as Hughes was from a set piece (shock). 1 in 7 and that was deflected in!!
Not read all of the comments on this thread but can probably guess where they’re going. Poor management today, not making substitutions earlier, and for the most part we were more in control. Can’t do anything about it now. We have one game left. Win it and we are safe for one more year. No point discussing anything else. Get behind the team one last time. Has it ever been any other way
Kamara, Puerta, Joseph and Hughes are all very young players, who's vocal on the pitch? Who are our leaders? Slater and Egan both went off, Jones and Coyle always seem quiet, Amrabat and Pedro need to be guiding Kamara and particularly Joseph through big games, we lacked shape and leaders today when it mattered.
Personally, I didn't think we played that badly, there was only one team trying to win it, and that was us. However, the Achilles heel, as it has been all season, is the lack of quality in the final third. We started well enough, but Slater's injury disrupted the flow of the game, and we lost Slater's driving forward. After that we saw a lot o the ball but did little with it, not for the lack of effort, just not enough quality on show. As we feared it is down to the last game at Pompey, at least it is still in our hands, but we have to win. We do seem to play better away from home, so let's hope Pompey are on the beach, and we are up for the fight. Last chance saloon.
Gelhardt seemed to struggle to get into the game today and, as much as Joseph runs his arse off, he struggles to keep the ball or hold much up. Feel like our fullbacks and wingers seem to have no idea what one another wants from the other. How many times do we go down one of the sides and get pushed towards the line and have to come back across the back four again? Fullback whacks it long and winger wanted it short; fullback gives it short and winger is off running long; or winger shouting for it and fullback leisurely running up to them to give them it bringing a player or two with them.

Kamara against Leeds, 4th Jan. Since then only Matazo against Stoke and we lost anyway. No goals at that end in March or April. We did score a first half goal against Norwich but we played the opposite way around for that one so it was at the South stand end.
There's so much to say about that game but most of it has been said before. Just the same failures again and again and again and again at home. It's hard to believe. The fact that we concede so few goals, yet so reliably concede from set pieces at a crucial moment whenever we play a poor side at home, is just so hard to understand and accept. It makes no sense but the pattern just keeps being reinforced. We almost never keep a clean sheet but also very rarely concede twice in a game. Always just enough to harm any chance of a result, and always a soft goal from a set piece. If we were leaking goals all over you'd say we just have a bad defence but we clearly don't. It's infuriating. I think it's easy to say Selles was playing for a draw but I don't think it's true. I don't think that not making a sub equates to playing for a draw. I think it was pretty clear that Derby were actually the ones happy to hang on before they scored. They were starting to waste time and have a lot of players going down causing stoppages and stuff. Our problem, as it has been all season but particularly over the last few weeks, is that we have no goal threat. Why it's been so much worse after the international break is the big question. It looks like it's going to relegate us just when Selles appeared to be on the verge of securing our safety. I believe he's a good manager and I don't believe at all in questioning his position but something has gone badly wrong in recent weeks and he has undone some of his prior good work. We were 10/1 to be relegated a few weeks ago and now we stare it in the face. There are a lot of reasons we are where we are but this recent total collapse in attacking play is one of them.
And let's face it. Brucie's had our pants down on 2.5m for Joseph. Just look at him sometimes and wonder WTF if he's the lovechild between Tom Eaves and a **** spaniel who just can't find the ****ing sticks.
"You're only as good as your strikers". Who said that again? And ultimately Acun has put a lot of money into **** no 10's, Unfit wide players and fragile forwards. Most of whom payed less than a year's worth of games before being sent out and subsidised at other clubs. I ****ing hate to accept it, but the blokes been a ****ing disaster in footballing terms. Off the pitch the fact we've finished the season at home capacity, despite the football and have sold out Portsmouth away is a huge positive of his ownership. But ultimately, he's had control. He's made the primary decisions, he gambled his money on lame horses and lost. And in the process sacked a thoroughbred coach over a selection argument, lost key players and staff in the process and instead of reading the room as opposed to kneejerking to gobshites on social media and sniff-laden "pub" sycophants... He's gone for a panacea wildcard and got bitten in the arse. It's all on Acun. He gambles and lost. It's his mess and we absolutely deserve to be where we are.
Gelhardt has known since the international break we don't have the dosh to stump up Leeds asking price so he's playing for himself. Pedros also pissed we knocked back a bid in Jan and he ain't staying either
