Kayi Sanda not playing for U23’s tonight?

Call up to the first team for Saturday as injuries at CB.

Other notable absences are Baylee Dipepa and Romeo Akachukwu, so perhaps there are a few youngsters training with the first team this week. Hopefully the club is looking to avoid another Sam Amo situation.

Burnley made 10 changes to their first team for their third round game against Reading. Presumably they'll field a second-string against us also, considering they have a game tonight, and next Wednesday.

If we put out our strongest team, this game really should be put to bed by half-time. Then we can rest players if necessary.

<laugh>I don't think even you believe that's going to happen Che. When did we ever put a game to bed by half-time and how many goals would be enough?
I'm saying no less than four.

Oh god, didn’t realise they’d signed Jonjo Shelvey. He loves a whack against us, whilst being consistently **** against anyone else.

Another game where Burnley failed to score tonight. And another game with a clean sheet. They won 1-0, courtesy of a defensive error and OG

Last game against Swansea was pretty comfortable at half time tbf.

The 5-0 at home Dec 2023? Only 1-0 at half time though.

I had a look back to try and find a game where we would be seen as comfortable at HT. I'm not sure that 2-0 is the game put to bed where we are concerned. Even in some of the high scoring games most of the goals came later on.
When we beat Newport County 8-0 in 2021 it was 3-0 at HT, that was the best I could find.

Gotcha. I meant the previous FA Cup tie where we were 2-0 up at half time. You're right, in that with us that's never enough, but that was pretty much the only game this season where I felt comfortable, because they were so, so bad.

Burnley being hard to score against, hard to beat and not scoring much themselves goes out the window for this game tbh. As others have said, they played last night and play the midweek after our game. They will be focused purely on promotion and will probably make 11 changes to their normal league line up like they did in the last round. Their 3 losses this season have all come away from home too. If this was first 11 v first 11 then we'd probably be in for a 0-0 and penalties, but with the circumstances as they are, we should be looking to win this relatively comfortably. I expect us to put out our full first team, whatever that is.
