The ‘mentor for Delap and Ohio’ excuse was used for Sharp. It was bollocks then and bollocks now. It had **** all impact.

Isn’t it the coaches’ jobs to improve the wingers at the club anyway?

How on earth can you know what impact it had? Ohio improved a lot over that time. Maybe he learned a lot from Sharp, or maybe not.

I can understand having reservations over the transfer but it's not objectively bad as you're making out.

In fairness James Milner is 39 and he’s still in the Premier League with Brighton. Although he is well know for being the fittest player at Liverpool when he was there - even we’ll into his 30’s.

We have not signed James Milner

Amrabat is a curious deal. Can't really imagine how a 37-year old on the wing works, but I'm sure there'll be examples of players who've done it well. Not sure I agree with the people saying it's a typical Acun signing; I guess he's coming from Greece which neighbours Turkey but that seems a stretch.

I remember him tearing us apart for Watford at Vicarage Road once. Might've been the 2016/17 season.

I think my biggest concern might be how this all works numbers wise. We do have wingers, it's just that they're not that great. With Kamara, Burstow and Amrabat you'll have three wingers who aren't really ones you want as first choice right now. Gelhardt sounds like he might play on the wing, but then you'd probably still want another, and then you've got five wingers which is a bit much.
We have two good wingers who are crocked, so maybe this signing is covering the. crack with wallpaper hoping the wall stays up until the end of the season.

He pretty much agreed the second he let them put that clause in his contract, you don’t agree to that if you have no intention of going back.

He didn't agree to that clause, that's between the clubs. Jaden will have had zero say it is, also Jaden didn't have to go back, he could have rejected their offer

I don't think signing the old man from Greece is such a bad idea. The decision making of Kamara is appalling at times , we might as well have a well skilled Grandad in that position who makes the right choices

From what I remember of him in England, Amrabat’s main strengths were his physical attributes such as pace and strength.
