“I’m really excited to work with the manager. He sees me more playing off the nine, maybe off the right or just behind."

interesting...

I have a gut feeling Selles is going to go to his trusted formation with 4222. A lot of the players he’s going after suggest it

So now crooks and gelhardt have signed

Sounds like an accountancy firm doesnt it

Crooks & gelhardt associates

Theres no real rumours for other signings bar lincoln? But that seems iffy

“It’s a happy moment for me. I’ve spoken to the manager about the plans and direction the club is going in and I can’t wait to get started and get playing.

“My best positions are striker or just behind the striker, trying to help assist and score goals for the team and trying to win games.

“Every footballer wants to train hard all week and get rewarded with playing on the weekend.

“That hasn’t happened for me in the last few years so I’m really excited to get playing again and get that matchday feeling back.”
If he’s playing just behind pedro he’ll be in the centre of the defence!!

Would expect some news on Greg Taylor soon too.

I struggle to see that one. Hoping it's a smokescreen for other targets, as I worry we're chasing someone who will either stay at Celtic or choose another club.

Wonder if the winger is anyone from Ipswich. Philogene messing them around, so perhaps a reluctance to let someone go. Broadhead would be a great signing, but maybe unrealistic
Could do with Baz’s definition of extensive experience as Broadhead has around 50 champ appearances

I reckon longman is driving this
He’s been messed around by us
Fans turned against him too
He’s probably said he’s not signing in the summer if his contract is coming up
And acun does love to help unhappy players

It'd be a good move for him. Somewhere where he can be a bigger fish and not have this reputation of being a bit **** (even though he's not that bad) which means people are waiting to jump on his mistakes. And in the meantime it's a move up the table. The money won't be great though you'd think.

I'm not convinced a move to a lower ranking SPL side would be a step up from the championship, but ultimately he's out of contract in summer which means he's entitled to speak to other clubs ahead of summer anyway.

Letting him go makes sense all round if we're not planning on renewing. Which we clearly aren't.

I thought we were talking about him going to Oxford.

Ah,.OK. that would be a temporary step up but I know where I'd rather be in the longer term.

Still, if we're not renewing then he's pretty much already got one foot out the door anyway.

He's at a level where he's decent backup for the kind of side we want to be, but no more. And if we want a smaller squad, then realistically he isn't going to be in it. Selles probably sees that the same way Rosenior did in sending him to Millwall.

It does seem risky in the short term though because right now we don't have better wingers than him.

Hopefully that situation will be resolved though in the coming days or weeks.
