Even if we’re struggling to attract certain players, surely we can do better than Paterson? Really scraping the barrel with that one. If we are getting him I hope it’s just a loan till the end of the season and not a permanent.
There is a type of player emerging here - hard working, aggressive, experienced at the level. The first two characteristics match how Selles had Reading set up. I can see the wisdom in that approach, even if we may not be convinced by every individual we are linked to. It worked a treat for Warren Joyce 25 years ago.
Well done to him, he's earned his place in the side. I really love being proved wrong about players, if him and Jones starts continue to perform like this, we're in good shape.
Cornick is a player we've been linked to before. Paterson is just somebody else who would be available for cheap and has lots of Championship experience, chipping in with goals too.
He did have a couple stinkers under Walter in fairness. Not that I’m sure Walter’s man management helped either
