That’s the one. It was embarrassing from Poyet that day - the beginning of the end

A couple of days later I think. I was wrong to say the beginning of the end, that was long before he was finally fired.

Madness like complaining about the atmosphere as you do ...

... people traipsing out definitely affects that.

Besides, I couldn't care less if people leave after five minutes.

What's annoying is that they stop on the walkway, if we attack, and block people's view ...

... they wouldn't do that if they were watching the game in a pub but roll their eyes when you shout at them to move.

When have I complained about the atmosphere? It’s been ****e for years now but there’s no complaints here considering I’m part of the crowd and can influence it <laugh>

You were complaining on a match thread and saying you were bored after ten minutes iirc.

You were complaining about the atmosphere being shyte ...

... and also saying you were bored.

There nothing 'mad' about being one of the people, wanting to see the game, having their view blocked by people who apparently don't.

If you've decided to leave just f*ck off.

Someone that sits near me leaves on 75-80 mins every game. If I knew i had to do that i wouldn't bother going. Maybe once a season if you need to be somewhere but not every game. He also claims it takes him nearly 3 hours to get on various buses and trains/metros to get to the game. Surely if your commiting that much time to travel anyway then getting home 20-30 mins earlier through leaving early shouldn't really matter.

That's what I don't get with long distance travellers, matchday is a virtual write off so why not really make the most of it.

Those who live locally, and leave early, always make me jealous ...

... they must have beautiful wives, and fantastic home lives, if they simply can't bear to be away for another twenty minutes.

Just on the light shows that were talked about on the last page, I did wonder what those who go to the ground think of them. I’m not epileptic but I find them really awkward to watch on TV and they give me a headache whenever I’ve been in similar in person. Do we do them on every night game now? Feels like they could / should be saved for special occasions.

yeh it’s a 4.5 hour drive for me and I’d rather leave an hour late than 5 mins early if I was wanting to beat the traffic.

I’ll always maintain though I don’t mind if others want to leave early. I just don’t understand it. And I also find it a little bit embarrassing when Sky point it out and it’s a close game.

I fully expect them to drop it tbh ...

... now the novelty has worn off.

I think they'll use it sparingly now.

I woulf still go personally. Those of us who have to leave early, or make a priority call to leave early, dont like missing the last 10, or a winner. But I wouldnt hoy it in because I have to miss that part of the game.

Generally the later in the day the worse public transport is. Maybe he has to leave early to get home for his wife to make night shift and look after the bairns. If that were the case I would say he is making a hell of a commitment to cheering the lads on.

Not sure why folk seem so hung up on when folk leave, or why they leave. Could argue the same about those desperate for a half time pint, or those so full of ale before a match they are off for a piss on 25 mins. Happens in front of me regularly enough. I just stand up as they pass, if they are slow. It isnt a big drama at all.

Team must be doing well if we are moaing about this <laugh>

There could be any number of reasons why folk need to leave early. It may not be a choice for a lot of folk. My lad has to leave Derby home games early to make his work shift. Probably a few like that at Sunderland.

Exactly Smug, me and my lads season cards are for an aisle seat and the next one. Constant drift of people, no matter what the score, who then stop if something interesting happens. My lad hates it, not because he can’t see, but because I shout if you’re going, keep ****ing moving. Mind I know I would have the back up of the people around me :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Even worse, I'm in row 20 late on they come down and jump into vacated seats in front row and ignore all requests to sit down. Of course no stewards around when you need them. No real problem if they would only sit down but no we get total ignorance.

I doubt that 20/30 minutes is so tight for many people tbh ...

... I'm not saying there are none but if it's so critical they wouldn't risk going at all.

A puncture or RTA could easily lose them that twenty minutes.
