I'll get Netty to give you a call, just need to finish my bag of salt and vinegar crisps first, I hate salt and vinegar but I picked up a multi pack by mistake.
Went to daughters for tea yesterday and she gave me a folded bag to take home which i stuck in the fridge, Opened it about 30 mins ago and it contained two large triple choc Belgium cookies. Feel full as **** now.
I went to the supermarket today...went by the biscuits and cakes aisle, my eyes were sulking so refused to look at them, much like a dog does when it's told they mustn't touch something lol. Somehow though the crisps jumped in the trolley, I think they must have fell in as I walked past, seemed rude to return them. Bought plenty of fruit though....not seen any Victoria plums this year.
We’ll just move swiftly over the fact that tens of thousands of Israelis have been forced from their homes and that Hezbollah rockets have struck Israeli homes all over the country. They’re trying to kill Israeli kids but obviously it’s disgusting that Israel have bigger, better and more precise weapons to fire back with.
Approximately 3,700 people were killed during the course of the Troubles, of whom 52% were civilians, or an NCV ratio of just over 1:1 which may sound alarming but is considered extremely good according to IHL guidelines. The NCV in Gaza is currently hovering at around 1:2, depending who you believe out of the Hamas Health Ministry or the IDF.
Well, one slightly important contextual difference is that whereas the IRA only sought Westminster's political withdrawal from Ireland, Hamas and Hezbollah want Israel to cease to exist entirely. A fairer comparison would have been had the IRA sought the total destruction of all of Great Britain, what would the armed forces' response have been if that was the enemy's objective?
They did, though never on anything like the scale Israel is perpetrating now. Bloody Sunday caused the government problems for decades, and is regarded as one of the most shameful episodes in the history of the British armed forces.
When this conflict started I recall you doubting the validity of the tunnels even existing, so I have no idea when you decided they do exist and were easy to destroy. Now you're offering military advice
Bloody Sunday(s) if you go back far enough - 1920 British troops (Black & Tans) opened fire on crowd at Croke Park, Dublin, watching Gaelic football - 1972 Belfast and the Paras - both unprovoked in terms of weapons etc - similar deaths around 15 - kids in both - lots more injured in the first incident .... As you say - nothing like the scale of women and kids in Gaza, which can never be justified in terms of some mathematical equation ...
Meh. 13 people shot dead at a march infiltrated by the IRA. The lads were just keeping themselves safe from terrorists. How many kids did the IRA kill with their bombs of freedom?
Not forgetting the eleven marines slaughtered at Deal Barracks, Royal Marines School of Music...in short Bandsmen. Two days ago was the 35th anniversary of that fatal day, most of those killed in their 20's...
'Fairer comparison' ... would be Cornwall seeking the total destruction of the UK... 'seeking' ... Hamas seeking the destruction of Israel with some Rockets, RPGs and AK47s ... Head wobble time ... Israel has Iron Dome, sophisticated missile and Aircraft capability, one of the most modern and well equipped (heavy armoury) armies in the world ... and is backed almost unconditionally by the USA ...
For the 86th time, there is absolutely no comparison between Israel fighting Iran on multiple fronts against militia groups who want to wipe Jews from the Earth with Northern Ireland 50 years ago
actually in the case of bloody Sunday the first gunfire came from a 2 man "Official" IRA sniper team and the first fatal casualty was shot by members of Royal Green jackets however the murders were committed by Paras .
