And the successful permanents will have to be sold again next year to fund the club
And so it goes

Well we only really sold Greaves and Philo who made much impact. If we sell 2 players next year for 40mil and keep the rest of the team together then it's hardly a problem.

This year the issue was the over reliance on loans and a squad still full of l1 standard players. Next year that shouldn't be an issue.

I think this is true, and it looks like we're doing something similar with McLoughlin. We seem to be happy to let him go, but of course we're doing our own business first and until then we're using him in our first eleven. I suppose there's a hierarchy like this right through the leagues of clubs selling to lesser clubs but only when they are ready. Unless you're at the top of that chain you're always waiting on someone.

As for this thing about it being better next year due to the permanent deals. Hopefully, but that depends on how the players turn out and how prepared we are to persist with them if they're not perfect. Most of the players we let go this summer were permanents rather than loans but we fancied ourselves to do better than them, and that meant signing 15 or so players.

We’ve done much better business in terms of permanents or loan to buy deals. We will be in a much better position moving forward with the number of players we have to bring in. This is however, heavily reliant on all these players not being dogga!

They clearly feel Zambrano is a long term successor to Seri think you could see similarities in it just didn’t show himself enough but think he’ll get there.

Tufan’s goals from midfield feel like something we are missing still
Tufan the only one who has left that is a genuinely questionable transfer imo. Suspect there was a strong personal element to it with acun and ozan, all others who left were either not good enough or offers met our valuation

A lot of the lateness in the window is simply down to player availability as well. This year with the Euros, Copa America as well that has been elongated a bit, the good Prem youngsters will likely only be made available this week. There’s a lot of clubs in a similar position to us.

Cooper's only available now?

A proportion of fans never rated Tufan, which I found baffling. Ömur and Mehlem are essentially his replacement providing the former can get central.

Before the window ends I'd like to see Meffert, a LB, a striker and two wingers. I'd be happy with that.

I think we've had a really good window so far. Big fees for players we knew would make way, lots of deadwood gone and often for a fee.

Lots of aspiration brought in with the rebuild, for the new manager.

Badly run clubs are on the verge of collapse yet we seem to be operating well within our restrictions and limitations. Too many fans clearly have an axe to grind and they're not even subtle about it.

Rushworth expected today…Meffert and Kamara hoped to be sorted today (no doubt announced tomorrow). Another winger and Striker sounds like where the work needs to be done.

Baz's latest update doesn't mention Cooper, but lists the other five positions previously known to be targets with no mention of a defender. I wonder if we've changed our mind on that deal due to the backlash. Baz mentioned on Monday that City were surprised by the reaction, and I've increasingly got the sense that Acun is easily swayed by fan opinion.

Another one to keep an eye on, but we know Oscar Estupinan's move to FC Juarez in Mexico has gone through and that will be announced in the vert near future. That's a permanent deal and one where City will get a seven-figure fee for the Colombian international striker.

I took it more to potentially mean Cooper will come later. There’s no rush with him whereas there is others.

Not as close as expected or Hamburg playing games to try and eke out a bit more money out of us.
