Struggling to create chances is just utter rubbish. We’ve been struggling to build from the back which has led to opposition chances, but to say we’ve been struggling is just a literal lie. And I expect nothing else from the person saying it, anything to suit his narrative

We had these issues early with Rosenior. Time and better players will address some of it.
Millar missed a good one, Jarvis miscontrolled the ball in a really good area. Oscar had one disallowed for being offside when he shouldn’t have been
Could have, would have, should have… can still hear me mam saying those exact words….lol
Millar had 2, Omur had a good one that got blocked and Mehlem's had a couple. We're getting into good areas
There’s a list of a good 4/5 in every game.
Brizzle you had the sitter Oscar missed, Jacobs chance. Jarvis the one he should’ve squared, Mehlem’s one he ballooned over and then the penalty that was a stonewaller.
Wendies you had the goal, the Mehlem chance they cleared off the line. The Burns disallowed goal which should never have been.
These are all moments where we should’ve scored not just moments where we’ve not managed to get a shot off.
Again it’s utter tosh that we’ve been struggling to “create”, lazy narrative with no proof
It's the exact same issues as we had last season, we get into decent positions and mess up the final ball/shot. 2 poor teams played, 1 average and just 11 shots on target. We create half chances, but very few clear-cut chances as the xG indicates. It certainly doesn't warrant the kamikaze style, where we need to score 2/3 to win a game when we're struggling to score once.
The narrative on Tim will change within a few weeks just as it has with Oscar. A month ago, Oscar was the return of the King and now he's pony but ironically, this is the best version of Oscar we've seen (he's fitter now than he's ever been with us). He's always been very limited but it was ignored, I've been saying the same for 18 months mind.
I think the result against Milwall is secondary, we're desperate for a good performance as we've not had one. The LC game was a bit better, but it was against their B team, yet we still struggled.
I do think we'll have a decent season though, the players that have come in and will hopefully come in look good for both now and the future.
Think the first bit of this is spot on. Last season when people wanted to be mad at Rosenior, they chose not to see all the positions we got into and wasted. Now people want to see a major improvement, they're choosing to see it for the time being at least. If we don't start scoring goals, this understanding that we are getting into good positions and creating chances will fade.
Ultimately the problem is the same as as it has been for a long time, we don't attack like a team that believes it can score goals. We aren't ruthless, we're almost apologetic around the penalty area. We have a system that leads to us getting into good areas, and I'm sure we'll continue to get better at that. But we have to address the long-standing lack of ruthlessness in attack if we're to be successful.
The 'shots on target' stat was always used last season, but we got into a lot of good positions and struggled and all the attackers were to blame.
The Oscar glut of goals came when he had someone who could be the out ball, hold the ball up, and link the play. That was Tetteh, and even though he played on the wing, he got the best out of Oscar as he helped to get us into the right areas where Oscar thrives. In 2 games, Oscar's had 5 touches in the opposition box (2 of which should've been goals, the big chance and the penalty).
It's funny but Eaves was exactly the same, he thrived at Gillingham where he had a big man to play off.
Marvin had a very good chance before HT, he should have hit the target.
Last season - Massive possession stats in own half and own third. Very low number of half chances and clear cut chances in too many games. Non threatening possession confused with domination. Had a strong squad but an often bored fanbase.
This season - Only two games in. Weaker squad right now. Creating decent chances, in space, at pace. Still learning what the manager wants. Trying to play as directly as possible. Bedding new players in who already look like good signings.
People that firmly backed Rosenior until the final day and beyond already turning on Walter two games into the season? After complaining about fan negativity for months... The irony. It'll be lost though.
It's crystal clear what we're trying to do differently, trying being the key word there. We're in transition.
If you're looking at 'goals scored' two games in and blaming the manager ahead of the 'not replacing x% of last season's goal scorers' then more fool you. The team needs time to gel and learn the style and we're still adding more to it.
As said a million times before, the reason we didn't score more last season was because we were religiously trying to break through 10 players by the time we got to their box, nearly every single time. We had to be perfect to score in those situations. That's not happening nearly as much now, already. The problem now is twofold - the amount of quality we've not replaced up top and the deeper players giving it away needlessly as they adapt to the new way.
Imagine Tufan, Delap, Philogene, Carvalho etc getting the space we're creating for our players up top at the moment. Millar on various occasions already with the ball in the box with one defender in front of him rather than 6.
