Happy with the Browne signing. Content with the others. Know we desperately need to shift a few. Sick of talking about the centre forward shambles. Just feel we’re lacking that extra bit of quality in a few areas. Very little expectation going into the season, there’s no excitement at all for me. Hopefully things change in the coming weeks. Fully expect Clarke to leave in the last 10 days of the window.
How much do you reckon we could get for Clarke?

Our squad is frustratingly close to being very decent. In my humble opinion a couple of additions (especially up front) could make our season a much more exciting one. I read that people are "quite happy" with our business in this window. Not sure where they get that confidence. For me any transfer for a club like Sunderland should improve our squad..Browne apart...I think we are just plugging gaps. Jury out on Poveda as he seems injury prone. In an ideal world we would make a statement signing and the others sit up and think we mean business this season...doubt it will happen tho.

Rusyn can do that. He can do what Gelhart can do. There is no need to bring him in or even consider it. We have seen him before and IMO he was not up to it.

I'd take Joffy over Rusyn everytime. I don't see how Rusyn contributes too much. Joffy links play, can hold the ball a bit and can press. Rusyn is a willing runner but that's it for me.

I'd sell Rusyn personally, don't think it's worked. He's behind Mayenda in the pecking order.

Polar opposite players. Gelhardt drops in and links the play, creates space for others. Rusyn looks to run in behind and is very poor linking the play.

Better goal contribution per 90 than Stansfield had last season.

Not suggesting Gelhardt is a great player but we'd really struggle to find better at our price range.

Spurs are after solanke which will push lankshear further down the pecking order and make them more likely to loan him out, searched his name on twitter just now and apparently he’s had a canny pre season with spurs
He has, I hope we can get him he is a special talent along with Mikey Moore.
They were a class above in the U23 game in the end of last season play-off.

Big talent, seen him play 4 times I think and he's always impressed. 6ft2 and is built so I think he'd handle the physicality of the league well.

Wouldn't go down well in the fanbase if he was the only striker signed but I also think Spurs would want him playing 25+ games so doubt they'd loan him here to be 2nd or 3rd choice.

Best news we could have this week is a PL club want Ekwah and make a good offer. Our striker search would go into a completely different level. If the club are as organised as they say they are, we should have striker targets at that price bracket ready to go as soon as we have a sale.

I know we had our fingers burnt with Burstow, but this lad looks the business.

I wouldn’t be too disappointed to see him come in alongside Mendy.

Looks a good prospect but hell of a lot of pressure on him to be the main man here, we really can’t afford a prospect up top right now, granted there’s no guarantee a mendy works out either mind

If it’s mendy him Rusyn and mayenda I’m content I think, dunno why but I get a feeling a name will appear from no where though I don’t know how much longer we will wait on mendy

We need a bit of both I think. We may get better quality through a loan like this than we can afford, but they will have off days and we need a mix of options.

Agreed mate, don’t envy speakman trying to strike the balance mind haha, I’d love stansfield to be the loan if we can’t get him perm
