Yeah it's not exactly earth-shattering news about Jobe. Still, turning down over £10 million from Lazio for one of our players shows how far we have come since the League 1 days.
We do need to cash in on one of our players but who? I wouldn't really like to see any of Jobe, Clarke, Hume, Ekwah or Neil go. If it is for mega money then OK so I'm good with the club holding out for that.
Did Burstow get a mention yesterday? I assume that would have went down like a lead balloon?

If we’re going to go for an ex loan player, I’d go for Gelhardt ahead of Burstow every time.
Theres a lot to be said about our striker hunt. The apparent situation with Mendy has been unlucky, though.
It has, but at this stage, and after so long.... when really, we need two proven strikers anyway.... it's mad that we've seemingly thrown all our eggs in one basket.

I reckon my head would fall off if we brought that donkey back.
Would take Gelhardt back in a heartbeat. Think he'll be available as well, Leeds are stacked in the forward areas.
Mayenda and Hemir are proper strikers. Burstow was one last season.
Mendy could come in and be a dud, 2 goals in 35 or something, and we'd just be repeating the same story again this time next summer.
We're signing one striker, that's clear, unless we also do Burstow on loan again. Careful what you wish for.

In my mind,this is about squad building. In an ideal world,with everyone fit,we'd want 11 first choice players,with another 11,ready and pushing all the way for their opportunity.Add to that a 3rd goalie and a few young'uns knocking on the door.....about 26 players or thereabouts.Currently we are heavier than that,which is why I expect half a dozen or so to go,depending on the injury outlook. However,until we have the squad built,and proper cover in place,.....I think we're getting there,but we still have work to do in certain positions.....we should be very reluctant to sell any of our better players, for whom we don't yet have adequate cover,at this stage in our progress.
Might be completely unrelated but if this comes off, it might free up Lankshear on loan. Obviously we'd only want him as the second of two srikers coming in though.
