Don't know mate. I know speakman and Harvey really liked him and if there was any improvement last year, we would have been in for him this year.

Given it was one of the worst ever loans, I think it's been put to bed.

As much as I liked Gelhardt really don’t think he’s what we need right now

It's not. More of the same of what we have. All fart and no ****e.

We need a proper number 9. No more fluff.

What we haven't got, and don't even seem to be linked with, is a striker who will put fear into a defence. Stewart wasn't in that bracket when he signed but became one.

3 goals and 3 assists in 1210 minutes for us, goal contribution every 210 minutes. Excellent link up play data wise, good presser, can hold the ball up and wins fouls.

    Sounds pretty good to me.

Gelhardt would not be my preferred answer but he's undoubtedly significantly better than anything we currently have. Especially considering the pressing game RLB wants to play.

Agreed. They cost the Dosh though and as people have said, we look like we need a sale first. I mean we haven't paid a fee for anyone this window but look like we still need a sale or some squad filler to be moved out.

I'd definitely have him as the second striker we sign. He offers something different and I like his attitude. Not convinced if he was to be our main man though.

We aren't going to pay big money unless we sell someone so every striker that is linked to us is going to have serious deficiencies. Ugbo is poor in possession and doesn't press. Mendy can't really carry the ball and isn't the best presser. Lankshear hasn't played a minute of first team football. Gelhardt is a poor finisher and doesn't do enough inside the box. Sory Kaba offers very little in possession. I could go on.

Will keep banging the drum that we need to sell, the market becomes much more open with some money to spend.

Rusyn can do that. He can do what Gelhart can do. There is no need to bring him in or even consider it. We have seen him before and IMO he was not up to it.

I disagree. You quoted Gelhart stats. A goal continuation every 2.5 games. Meh. The way he played, I don't see much that rusyn couldnt do with a run.

Anyway, we need better than both to be the main 9

Rusyn can do what Gelhardt can, but Gelhardt can do it better. I'd definitely have Gelhardt as the number 2 striker and get rid of Rusyn. Seen enough of him to make me think he won't make it here.

Gelhart made ten appearances last year. Zero goal contributions. He isn't the answer.

Happy with the Browne signing. Content with the others. Know we desperately need to shift a few. Sick of talking about the centre forward shambles. Just feel we’re lacking that extra bit of quality in a few areas. Very little expectation going into the season, there’s no excitement at all for me. Hopefully things change in the coming weeks. Fully expect Clarke to leave in the last 10 days of the window.

He would do a job along with a main striker no doubt but in the case of Rusyn maybe he could do the same alongside a main striker I don’t know because he never got a long enough run as in consecutive games, I’m not knocking Gelhardt cos the lad did a thankless task when he was here

Polar opposite players. Gelhardt drops in and links the play, creates space for others. Rusyn looks to run in behind and is very poor linking the play.

Better goal contribution per 90 than Stansfield had last season.

Not suggesting Gelhardt is a great player but we'd really struggle to find better at our price range.

2 strikers (at least 1 experienced), CB and CDM is a must for this to be a successful window, also moving on deadwood and loaning out future prospects
