It’s a fair point that a lot of the lads will be better for having a season behind them and the timing of the appointment means they’ve had pretty much a full pre season with the coach that’s gonna take us in to the games.

Let’s not underestimate the value of that. Could easily be one or 2 who didn’t light us up last year rose fast.

I think Alese, with games at CB, can become one. Agreed he’s not there yet, but if he had a run of games there, the value of having an athletic, left sided CB beside Big Dan would be massive.

Yeah I think we all know we need a CF, just hope the club gets it done because there is absolutely no way we can exit this window without one that has goals behind him that's for sure

Once a striker is brought in i'd back our starting 11 against most. Depth is an issue though. We have a lot of players who aren't championship quality at this moment so they need either a loan or to be sold.

Until a forward is brought in I struggle to predict us to finish above 10th, if a good one comes in though we could honestly finish anywhere.

My biggest worry is genuinely our defence fully fit its right up there with the best in the league, just appear brittle at the moment, everytime cirkin or aji go in for a tackle I wince, ballard worries have eased slightly ironically given he’s injured now, proper striker and better luck with injury’s then I agree we’re close to being on par with the coventrys etc

Yeah the injury record of what should be key players really is a killer mate.

Come kick off next week I’ll fully believe we’re the best team in the league mind, fickle like that haha, we just need a bit of luck and some help in certain areas then there’s no reason we can’t compete with everyone else atleast

    Of course, its not.

We're in real danger of starting the season having not rectified the problem from when Ross Stewart got injured.

We might be playing the long game but we could well be surrendering points as a result.

    We will be alright.

The Beale disaster and the fact the season was gone at the back end seems to have given some the impression we are a poor side, when we plainly aren’t.

The bulk of our side would get in the bulk of most other sides in the league, we just need a couple gaps filled and a wee bit of depth.

Some of those players who weren’t quite there last season could easily be the depth with a year behind them though, we gotta see.

Until the season is well under way no one knows what will happen
take Stoke last year, signed 49647363476893473497346469 players in the Summer window and struggled all season,

just because other teams are doing more business doesnt mean it will all work out.

The thing is mate, it’s not just the goals, it’s someone to hold the ball up. The number of times we gave the ball away too easily last season was far too much. Losing possession consistently will eventually see to your downfall. We have two ways of playing, get it to the wings and if that isn’t working errm get it to the wings. If it wasn’t for Clarke being lethal at cutting inside, god knows what would happen. We have wingers who would take their man on, look up and have nothing to aim for. I’d love to be a centre half playing against us

That was about 5 years ago we can’t stall forever because we might sign a dud that’s the chance you take unfortunately. If the scouts have done their work then it shouldn’t happen. We sign plenty of wingers there’s never any conversation about being cautious in case they’re the next Lewis Morgan..
